Iron remover, can’t recommend enough. Over time CT absorbs dirt/grime/metals that dawn or spray away does not touch. Did 7 treatments of iron remover and CT gleams better than the day I bought it. (Not saying much as Tesla keeps their CTs in dust bins with rusted nails imho)

Do it yourself and learn from these guys; they are the real deal. Guaranteed better job, and probably 6-8x cheaper. I have a kit ready to apply, but waiting for cooler weather.
yep, I've watched their video too, but you know, saw they were trying to sell their stuff so I didn't put much credence to it. let me know how their product works.

I've been using their products for quite some time; their stuff is incredible.

I'm going with a ceramic coating, but first I need to clean up the stainless. That's gonna take at least 4 beers
I got my foundation AWD 15 months ago immediately went for ceramic coat,. It doesn’t work. Maybe technology has evolved around it but still I went with PPF and applied it myself. It’s always clean and you can apply ceramic coating on PPF yourself. Don’t waste your money.

thanks my friend. i believe some of the yt detailers have said glass cleaner like windex is great for removing the fingerprints. (ammonia).
There is a lot of misinformation out there, probably planted to frustrate Cybertruck owners. Ammonia is not a good thing to use unless you like to create more work for yourself.

I did the same thing with my AWD in May of 2024. Got a ceramic coating specifically for stainless steel. Looked good for 3 months, then dulled the hue of my stainless. The color change didn't dawn on me until I upgraded last month to a beast and seeing the old(new) shine made me realize how much the ceramic coating really changed the look.

The original coating choice was based on a suggestion from a local detailer who had never actually used the product on a CT, just pontoons... so take that for what it's worth. For my new one, I'm using the elements to dictate shine.

All coatings fail, the only question is when. Some fail sooner than others. The beauty of the Cybertruck is it doesn't have any coatings to fail or maintain. The passivation layer can be stripped off, but it will regenerate itself just by keeping it parked outside in the rain and humidity.

I'm kind of a "the simplist answer is likely the true answer" kind of guy, so I think I'm going to go this route first.

Did you pick up your Cybertruck today?
I sure did. I absolutely love it. Had to pick it up in kc and drive it home to tulsa. My steering wheel clicks when it turns, like a tab is rubbing the column cover, pointed out a few minor alignments, like the vault tailgate isn't line up when closed, stuff like that... but other than that I'm giddy. It's incredible.

Congratulations! I know the giddy feeling and I found it particularly hard to control with the Cybertruck. I tried to remain cool, calm and collected, but it just kept rising up from somewhere inside and tried to take over. The good thing is it diminishes with time (although it took longer with the Cybertruck because it's another level of awesome). As it diminishes it will turn into just pure contentment and a warm feeling.

It's too bad you had to travel so far but, as you know, Oklahoma has dealership protection laws on the books that prevents Tesla from selling directly to consumer. This is so anti-consumer and protectionist that it's hard to fathom how we allowed for it to happen in a freedom-loving country like America. It just goes to show how powerful the auto dealership lobby really is!

We need fewer counter-productive laws and more common sense. Unbelievably, it's not illegal for the same family or business group to own all the dealerships in a region. This means there is no true competition in many areas for new car purchases or dealership service. Thousands of times a year a new car buyer gets "competing" bids from various dealerships without even realizing they are all owned by the same person or business group.

There is an easy fix for the steering click, I think you just loosen the cover and hold it all the way one direction when tightening it. I don't know for sure because mine didn't have that issue.

You and I completely agree on the crony capitalism garbage. I had to pick it up in kc apparently because I financed with tesla??? Whatever.

Does that mean you can get it serviced in Oklahoma at a Tesla Service Center? Not that it should need much of that!

Now that you've owned it a few days, is it still as incredible as you thought?

Any suggestions for this new owner? I've ordered a bunch of accessories to try out from amazon. Any suggestions on fingerprint treatment if I want to keep the SS look? Looking for car covers right now. Any feedback on the Tesmanian brand?
I wrapped mine, but one of my neighbors just takes his through the wash frequently and reports that fingerprints are a non issue. I think he finally got manufacturing oil off. I have two other friends that don't do anything. Their trucks are very dirty lol.

Congrats, couldn't sleep the night before I picked mine up! Still can't stop thinking about it, and I am not a car guy. Love my CT.
