Any suggestions for this new owner? I've ordered a bunch of accessories to try out from amazon. Any suggestions on fingerprint treatment if I want to keep the SS look? Looking for car covers right now. Any feedback on the Tesmanian brand?

Congratulations, BTW! You'll love it!

There are as many opinions as owners. Some are vehement.
This has worked great for me on the windows and the fingerprints. Probably sacrilege to one of the vehement crowd. 🙂

A pack of microfiber clothes from Sam's or Costco is a good investment too. Don't use fabric softener when you wash them or it will smear.

Listen to Galvatron, he has been wiping out autobots for a long time. Fingerprints, I meant fingerprints.

When my truck was in it’s baby clothes - I just let it get dirty, go through some gravel/muddy roads and then you don’t have to worry about fingerprints. 😁

Have you watched this video?
Are you going with a clear ceramic?
The stainless steel doesn't need a coating. Fingerprints are the biggest mountain out of a molehill I've seen in my 62 years. As others have testified, a quick spray and wipe using Sprayway and a microfiber takes any fingerprints right off. Easy peasy.

And don't listen to OutofSpec Detailing videos, they have a chemical heavy strategy that will make you look like the Sisyphus of car detailing. In case you are not familiar, Sisyphus' claim to fame was the endless pushing of a heavy rock to the top of a hill, only to have it roll back down and struggle to do it all over again, endlessly. The Out of Spec strategy will create endless work and expense on detailing products.

You want to wash it with soap and water, rinse well, and let exposure to oxygen create the passivation layer. You can speed it up with Citra Surf 77 if you want but it's not necessary. the more the passivation layer builds, The more oily the hands need to be to leave prints. Either way, a quick wipe with Sprayway takes them right off.

Anyone who tells you it's difficult to take care of a Cybertruck doesn't know what they are doing. It loves rain and soap and water. I park mine out in the rain, snow and sun 24/7 and it's dead simple to take care of. If you have hard water you will want to towel dry it after a hose rinse to prevent mineral spots, just like any painted car.

I'm going with a ceramic coating, but first I need to clean up the stainless. That's gonna take at least 4 beers

I agree Ceramic coating. First thing I did was wipe down the truck with Iron Out and then had it Ceramic coated. Now after 1 Year and 3 months I have only washed it once it basically just stays clean.

TLDR: Just wash it by hand like you'd wash any other vehicle by hand.

I was in the camp for doing a ceramic coating. I also kind of panicked when seeing how easily it picked up fingerprints. I read all the "how to avoid fingerprints" and "Oh, this chemical is best..." things. I'm sure they all have their merits.

I've always been a "wash the truck every week or two" guy... for all the trucks I've owned. Except one F-250 but that's another story. Anyway, I decided to just wash my CT the first weekend I had at home. I used just regular old car wash stuff... same thing I've been using for years. Really, a gallon jug lasts for freaking ever.

Anyway, no more fingerprints. In fact, this detail-oriented person has probably only washed his truck 5 times in the 21,000 miles I've put on it in the DC area. It just stays mostly clean looking.

To be fair, I washed it on Sunday, and I could see the film as I wiped my soap-soaked wash mitt over the stainless steel.

One thing I WOULD recommend though is one of those RV extendable brushes. I mean, I'm 6-3" and it's still one heck of a reach to get the top center of the windshield and you can forget about the top!

You might want to try CyberSudZ. I have not tried it myself because my CyberTruck is wrapped.

CyberSudZ

They also make a waterless wash for fingerprint touchup

Waterless Wash

I'm going to use the "BKF/Windex" method to get a consistent hue across all panels before sealing. I did the frunk lid this way, and applied some IronX with almost no reaction at all.

So I picked a random spot elsewhere, and the IronX became uniformly purple. So either way, the surface iron is being reduced.
