Maybe new owners focus their attention on upgrades, like appearance, accessories, or modifications. While those choices shape the look and feel of a vehicle, long-term reliability and safety are often determined by basic maintenance habits that are easy to overlook.

Simple routines can make a meaningful difference, such as regularly checking tire condition and tire pressure, keeping the driver’s footwell clean to avoid interference with pedal operation, preventing dirt, sand, or moisture from accumulating inside the cabin or underbody, paying attention to the fit and safety of interior components, not just their appearance etc.
These details may seem minor at first, but over time, they directly affect driving safety, comfort, and vehicle lifespan.

We’d like to open this discussion to the community:

What car maintenance tip you'd like to give to a new owner?

By sharing your advice, you’re helping create a practical knowledge base for new drivers and contributing to a safer, better driving experience for everyone in the forum.

Your experience could be the tip that helps someone avoid a costly mistake.

Quit worrying about the basically indestructible object you just bought and buy a subscription to an automated car wash.
Move on. Life is short. It’s dishwasher safe.

From a historical perspective browse the site; there are some excellent threads on the operational aspects of the truck. And don’t worry about the rear right hand side wheel brake dust….its normal.

Agreed. Does fine, doesn't scratch. If you can afford it I also recommend wrapping in clear PPF if you like to keep the stainless look. I did gloss clear PPF and it looks incredible and is extremely easy to clean, does fine in a car wash, and no fingerprints!

Just enjoy! It’s an absolutely awesome vehicle. Look forward to updates like you do on your iPhone, punch it in Beast Mode to impress your friends (and yourself over and over again), and kind of let it be …. Too much analness will ruin the experience!

Don’t overthink it. Just do. The truck does the rest. When in doubt, come here for advice. Welcome to the club and enjoy the ride 😎

For owners in the New York and Conneticut area, "splash" car wash has monthly subscriptions, for about twice what a single one time wash is. Yesterday, I went to their "Randolph, MA" location (pretty much the only one in Massachusetts currently), and the "everything wash" was $21, for $41.95 per month, you have UNLIMITED washes per month.. That is certainly handy in our salty/crappy Northeast weather, and I will probably take it their weekly, why not, same price.

Here is their website, you can click on "locations" in NY or CT, so see they have a LOT of locations in those 2 states, not so many in MA or VT. BTW, the Randolph, MA location was just built about a year or two ago, so is all new current equipment.

Here is a little about their "unlimited" plan

Here is the wash descriptions at my location
