First, is the Universal Wall Connector on the website the same one that comes with FS CT orders?

Second, if so the website says it is 11 KW / 48 amp output, any idea how long it would take a CT to charge from say 10% - 80% at that rate?

thanks in advance!

8hr …ish

123kWh x .7 = 86kwh / 11kW = 7.82 hr
Ah. In that equation, why use the 123kWh number? What does that represent?

Come home plug in and in the morning you are good to go. My Lightning and my wife's MY are always ready to go in the morning with a full 85% charge.

The problem is if you forget to plug in at night, and have to get somewhere, home charging at 10% will not be practical. I would drive out early that morning on the 10% and hit a SC nearby before work.

Yep, I have 2 Teslas (3 & Y) already and we share 1 charger. CT will be 3rd, so I’ll be installing the new charger to help share the load. 8 hours is overnight and that works fine for me. I was hoping to get a higher charge rate though from the new charger.

I keep wondering why you can't set an alarm on the app to charge your Tesla in the evening if your battery is below a set amount.

For L2 AC charging, you can set the charge limit.

"Use Scheduled Charging to specify a daily time in which you want Model Y to start charging.

Use Scheduled Departure to set a daily time when you want Model Y to be ready to drive. Model Y automatically calculates when it needs to start preconditioning and/or charging. This ensures that charging is complete and/or the cabin climate and Battery are preconditioned by your departure time."

I pretty sure many will set charge times for off peak hours to reduce costs

My service provider does not offer TOU rates. Fortunately I only pay ~$0.10/kWh around the clock.

With a Gen 3 Tesla wall connector 8-12 hours for at home charging per a CT owner with a lot of miles, they are charging to 90% to try to avoid having to supercharge around town as the closest supercharger is a V2 and pretty slow.
