The factory tour was better than expected. We saw a large part of the CT line including bare frames, the rear motor carrier assembly, adding some interior parts, and adding some SS panels.

I'm a long time investor in TSLA but the current stock price giving a PE ratio of 230 ( in the stratosphere) it's extremely out of line. The company profits (and revenue) will need to increase 8-10x to bring this back into alignment with the market. To expect this stock to increase over the next few years is not reasonable. What am I missing?
You're not missing much. This should go both ways. Musk should have to pay back shares if the valuation of TSLA goes dow
Texting and driving, sounds silly but this is a hint that FSD might be starting to get better.
There are already vehicles (including my wife's) that let you text and drive. It's done hands free by voice commands. Much easier to do that than reduce FSD errors a 1000 fold to become autonomous.

Handsfree texting is definitely possible with many vehicles. But even texting with your hands is legally and technically possible today, under limited circumstances.

In Germany, California, and Nevada, it's actually legal to take your eyes off the road and text with your hands IF you have a Mercedes with the "Drive Pilot" system active. Drive Pilot is a Level 3 ADAS, which means that it can operate unsupervised; Mercedes assumes the liability for vehicle operation while Drive Pilot is active.

The catch is that Drive Pilot will only operate on certain geofenced freeways at speeds under 40 mph -- so basically in traffic jams. There still has to be someone in the driver's seat, and that person has to be ready to take over when Drive Pilot disengages. Also the subscription costs $2,500 per year.

Mercedes removed California from being able to text while in L3 because of their laws.

Huh. I guess if a state has a "no texting while driving" law, it would have to be amended. Well, Mercedes still advertises that you can "play games, watch videos or take advantage of in-car entertainment features" while Drive Pilot is active.

Correct, but many states don't allow you to be behind the wheel on your mobile device. Tesla won't be able to get around that, either.

In Germany, use of a mobile phone is reportedly allowed with Drive Pilot active:
You may casually take your hands off the wheel and eyes off the road and safely – and legally – answer text messages, e-mail, or watch videos ... by the end of the test, I completely trusted it – I pulled out my phone and took a few pictures
So the technology is already here (under limited circumstances), but the laws will need to catch up. Also, in Germany Drive Pilot works at speeds up to 59 mph.

The laws will also hinder Cybercab in their current form. Currently, automakers are allowed to deploy a maximum of 2,500 vehicles without traditional controls (steering wheel and pedals) per year.

Elon was saying they will be able to make a Cybercab ever 10 seconds...they'll hit 2,500 quickly.

There has indeed been an ethereal vacuum left by your trip to Florida.
On behalf of the entire CTOC community, we are not ready to share you with Goofy and Owen Grady. Fuck those guys.

And as for arrests, you tell me @ABILISK, seems like the technology can make policing safer for you and more efficient but will ultimately remain in your control.
They would be enormously helpful. They could approach cars, houses, crime scenes, etc to give us an idea of what we’re dealing with in advance. Some departments already have bomb-diffusing robots. Little Wall-E looking things on tracks, but humanoid ones could get in and out of vehicles by themselves, walk up stairs, stuff only a human can do. They would be revolutionary help, but I can’t see them taking witness statements, making an arrest decision, and handcuffing someone yet. I’m not as forward thinking as Elon though and don’t know all future capabilities. Quite honestly, and as a Tesla fanboy I hate to say it, I haven’t been very impressed with Optimus yet. I’m sure it’ll get there. I wasn’t overly impressed with the first version of FSD I tried in 2020 or so.

Woah now. Don’t be hating on Owen Grady. He’s also Star Lord, fighter of the Abilisk. We have good fun.
