Tesla Roadster event requires restricted airspace? Why?

[gtgarner]

Tesla Roadster event requires restricted airspace, and the FAA obliges

How far into the air will this fly?

I thought the rocket thrusters were designed to increase horizontal acceleration. Is this a Harrier car or something?

[ModelAZ]

My guess is to prevent drones from flying overhead.

Unless the Roadster really does fly, and flies high jk of course.

Best guess is for safety - if one of the gas thrusters break free of the car it could become a ballistic missile for a moment?

Exactly. Perfect.

All I need is a moment. - Just like my CT beast - I only need 2.5 seconds.

Probably a drone light show.

Probably a drone light show.

Excellent point - I didn't think of that.

Probably a drone light show.

Kimbal Musk owns and runs Nova Sky Stories which is a company that produces large-scale drone light shows.
