I had intermittent wind noise on the freeway. When the wind would come across from certain angles. After 3 service visits they replaced my front windshield and it’s been perfect ever since.

At highway speeds my wind noise was pretty loud. All windows were in the upmost position. And then I tipped the rear windows to drop slightly and the wind noise was gone! The windows sealed the wind and road noise out perfectly by dropping the windows lightly. Crazy!
Yeah, this happens to my rear passenger side door when ambient temps are below 30 degrees F. Last winter, they added foam in the door gasket, which fixed it last winter but it returned this winter. Lowering the window a smidge fixes it, but I’ll add it to my list next time I really need to go in for service.

The trick is to drop the windows like a millimeter below its max height. It’s still fully “closed” to any passenger.

I have a 2024 Cybertruck AWD, and it has had the wind noise issue on the highway, mainly in the cold above 65 mph. I put some foam rods in under the gasket that sits in front of the rear passenger glass on the front edge. It pushes the factory gasket out far enough to stop the wind from coming into that edge.

This worked until the next winter hit, and I heard noise again. So when I took it in, the tech said it looked like the B appliqué that sits on the outside over the side B pillar camera was warped. They replaced it, and still the same issue. I then had to add the foam rods again, and it “helped” a little but did not resolve it. I could still hear wind and cars/trucks noise when I passed them more than normal.

I then got out and looked down the edge line of the vehicle and could see that the glass was not sitting flush with the vehicle. Even the front door windows in the front were sticking out a little, but mainly the front of the rear side windows was out about 4-5mm. That is the issue, and there is a Tesla service document that shows that they are to be flush with the gaskets and side of the car. Basically, you can adjust the window regulator that holds the glass; if it makes the glass flush again. It moves the glass in position and adjusts the pitch also(two adjustment positions).

I am going to have them adjust both the front and rears, and this will fix it:

Front: https://service.tesla.com/docs/Cybe...AED0-0C0E417CDD78.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Rear: https://service.tesla.com/docs/Cybe...B52A-2361DEECA22B.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com

The rear is the main offender, but the front is off slightly too. Look at the last two pics on my truck, and you will see how far it’s sticking out versus the other Tesla repair pics which show it should be level.

This must be what they found with mine, too. Thanks for all the detail!

This is happening with me too. I was wondering if anyone tried moving the whole door down 1-2mm?... Would that be possible?

They are probably going to say “within spec” or “could not reproduce”
I have the same issue. I have been to service twice for it. They will claim that they cannot reproduce it, and they will not want to spend time on it.

Was all noise through the rear windows? I’ve noticed noise mainly through the front windows but oddly only at cold temperatures (sub 25 or so).
We just got back from a trip that had us in some -2°F temps and we both noticed more road noise. I agree with you and others, it seems to be more at lower temps.

Same. Only started doing it when it got below 40. Its almost like they didn't actually do real world cold weather testing… my frunk latch keeps getting stuck too since its been cold
You didn’t get the memo? CT is certified to be operated between 50-80°F in regions without rain, snow, hail, or direct sunlight.

You can go into the service menu and recalibrate the windows yourself. The mobile service tech showed me how to do it when he came to swap out the spoiler on my wife’s Plaid S. Every couple months I have to recalibrate mine. Somehow they get uncalibrated over time

I had the same exact issue, and dropping the rear windows SLIGHTLY greatly reduced the noise.

I installed the aftermarket door seal kit, and it stopped completely without having to fiddle with window positioning.
