They allegedly replaced that brake sensor and it has never happened again. The problem was solved but it took several trips to rectify. All is good, now.
System shutdown did not work. The brake sensor needed replacement

This happened to me today on the way home from work. Shutdown worked temporarily but the. The error came on after about 15 minutes. Scheduled a service appointment.

I am getting these errors and have caliper covers on. Should I take them off before I take the truck in for service?

Thanks to ppl in this thread posting what their fix was (replace rear body control module or replace brake sensor).

Over the past 1-2 months, I've had similar alerts occur...both while using FSD. What will happen is out of nowhere FSD will display the red steering wheel icon saying to take control immediately. It's as if the FSD software stack crashes, then I get 3 alerts in the Notifications menu:
  • DI_a246 - Automatic vehicle hold disabled
  • DI-a124 - Cruise control disabled
  • VCLEFT_a179 - Parking brake functions degraded
When this occurs, FSD is no longer available (and a dual scroll wheel reset doesn't fix it). Only way is to park the truck, get out of it for a few minutes. Then, everything works fine.

I had this happen two times (only while FSD is engaged):
  • Yesterday (the day after I installed 2025.32.8)
  • Maybe 3-4 weeks ago on, I think, 2025.32.6.
I'm wondering if it's just a software bug with the more recent releases or if my Body Control Module or brake sensor is failing?

Anyone else seeing these codes? They are starting to happen on every drive. They usually clear after the truck sleeps for a while. The parking hold issue usually occurs when I come to a stop on a decline or incline. After the code throws the truck just free rolls forward or backwards after I come to a stop. I have to hold the brake manually.

UI_a019 - Parking brake functions degraded
VCREAR_a179 - Parking brake functions degraded
DI_a246 - Automatic vehicle hold disabled
Yes I had the exact same thing multiple times on my trip back from SoCal when I got my rock sliders installed at UP. It affected my ability to use FSD multiple occasions and it only happened while I was using FSD. I’ll say it happened three times requiring a power down reset (scroll wheel reset ineffective) of the vehicle to get back on the road and use FSD.

Very frustrating. It seemed to have happened in my case while I was driving and if I was passing or being passed by an 18 wheeler the gust/vortex seemed to cause the issue. Was your situation similar or did you have maybe high winds or something?

I see you're asking someone else this question but thought I'd chime in: for me, it occurred both times while using FSD on surface roads in my town. Was driving around 25-40mph and nothing out of the ordinary occurred on the road.

Same as mine. So yours isn’t fixed? How often does it occur?

I was debating on scheduling a service appointment and was pleasantly surprised to see one of the alerts in the app. I selected it and decided to schedule the appointment.my got tens new it’s a software bug…

Only happened one day on that road trip on the way back home, but it happened three times. Nothing since.

My truck would throw these codes (DI_a015, UI_a019 perhaps others) somewhat randomly when driving. They typically would clear after the truck sat idle for a while or I did the two scroll wheel reset. Eventually, I took the truck to the Council Bluffs, IA service center. They replaced the left rear brake caliper. Fingers crossed that this fixes the problem.

Oh, and they also replaced the cant rails. The new rails almost look better than the factory ones.

I had my truck in for service a week ago and this was the exact same fix they did on mine: replaced left rear brake caliper.

I had 3 pics with timestamps of when the alerts appeared so it allowed the tech to look at the logs, and what they found was 'voltage fluctations' from the left rear brake caliper.

I debated cancelling the service appt because the alert hadn't occurred in about 2-3 weeks leading up to my service appointment.

Everyone getting who has 2025.38 + update
It’s a software issue
That was my guess too as it started happening shortly after that version number (the one before the 'Tron update' 2025.38.3.1).

What made me schedule the service appt was because one time the 3rd alert was: 'parking brake may not disengage next time vehicle is in Park.' I was driving into the city and was thinking: I better not be stuck when I park my truck at my destination. Good thing it didn't happen.
