I'm waiting on mine to arrive, shipping tracker shows it got to the US quickly and through customs but now seems to be stuck at some distribution center in new jersey for the better part of a week...
Let me know how you like it after you do the install and have used it for a bit. If its stuck at Teterboro its gonna be a while..

Excuse my ignorance but what benefits would your suggested solution bring?

If it is better, I want it too. I paid a lot for my Foundation Cyberbeast, so price isn’t a concern for me. I just want the best of the best. Sure wish Tesla offered one that fully integrated into their system.

Thanks in advance.
I may be old but I still prefer my rearview view at the mirror location rather than on screen, and I want a full view (both sides and rear). The GenTex FDM has a mode where the 3 views are stitched in real time so there would be no blind spots. It is possible that Hansshow is using a GenTex mirror, just an older one.

the rear camera will still need a power source. I guess they can do a rechargable battery, but honestly running the wire for the camera is really a piece of cake in my opinion after having done it three times now.

I made the mistake of ordering the version without the nice rearview camera cover.for $10 extra. So, now I either have to order it from them or find one someplace else. Ugh
I ordered the new 2.0 version and had it installed about two weeks ago. Overall, it has worked well, with one exception. On one trip, it “froze” upon startup of the CT. I could not clear the error even after turning the mirror on/off. However, upon completion of the trip and shutting down the CT completely, the “frozen display” error cleared, and the mirror returned to service. So far, no repeats of the issue (but very limited use since the occurrence). I will continue to monitor this issue over the next several weeks to ascertain if it arises again. The 2.0 version has many nice options, and the clarity is of high quality. Overall, I am very pleased with the product, and I am cautiously optimistic as to its service. Hopefully, your issue will be resolved quickly and keep us posted on your progress. Good luck….

UPDATE: 2nd & 3rd occurrence. Today (2 Jul 2025) frozen display of rear camera view with "purple highlights displayed in lower half of mirror." Able to clear with turning mirror on/off. A few minutes later, frozen rear camera display, but no "highlights" noted. Again, able to shut mirror off/on and normal service returned.
Tesla Cybertruck NEW Cybertruck Digital MIRROR! Mirror with purple highlights

Update 3 Jul: I received a quick response from Hansshow. Their reply stated "this is a problem with the wiring harness and SD card. I will send you the wiring harness and SD card." I have now verified my address with them and I await the replacement parts. I will keep you posted. Thanks Hansshow for the quick response.

Update 20 Jul: I had a couple of more incidents, since my last post with the display freezing. My installer gave me a “heads-up” that most likely it was due to a slow SD card. He told me to purchase a faster one and it would most likely solve my problem. Hansshow was very helpful and as noted above they had already stated they would send me both a new wiring harness & SD card. They arrived this week. The faster SD card “did the trick.” The problem appears to have been solved. I will post again, if this is not the case. If you are having similar issues, I suggest you acquire a fast SD card and try it. You will most likely need the mirror to format the card and also possibly reboot the mirror with default factory settings. Good luck!

Update 29 July: Just a quick update, no more issues. The fast SD card appears to have solved all issues. No repeats. Very much enjoying this mirror.

Sorry but I honestly don’t understand the need for this. Everything is perfectly clear on screen so why you need a second screen plus the risk of messing up other electronics on the truck. Have the truck for over a year and never feel the need for it.

I agree with this thought as well. The mirror camera is very cool and useful for those who have the urge to look in the rear view mirror instead of the screen, but not worth risking the electronics which is one reason why I removed mine.

If Tesla could release an update where the rear camera does not disappear when the blinker is on that would solve my problem.

there is actually a setting where you can stop the blindspot camera from turing on. if you adjust the mirrors appropriately and you set the stock camera view to 0.5 or 1.0, there really isnt much of a blindspot.

Just my luck, things popped out won't go back in or clips broke

I already have the rear camera at 1.0. Not a fan of the 0.5 since it give a fisheye look, and does not give me an accurate distance vs the side cameras.

Personally, I don’t use my side mirrors most of the time and mostly rely on the cameras. I also have dark window tint. At night the mirrors are useless. During the day the white trim glare also blocks the use of the mirrors.

I installed mine last night
4.5 out of 5 stars.

The latest version of this mirror/camera integrates the front facing camera into the body of the screen, eliminating an install step. This is great for me as I didn't need an auxiliary front camera. Picture is clear and crisp, and the big screen makes a difference over the trucks regular view.

My only negative was the install instructions. They are still sending the old instruction manual link and much of it, like the front cam install instruction, does not apply to the version I got. I followed the directions but wondered why the rear cam feed comes in from the driver's side instead of the passenger side when the wire route from the passenger side is already exposed.

Ignore the directions and install the actual mirror last. I didn't, took it off 4 times at least and back on. You can't run wires to the camera from the headliner with mirror in place

There is one more irritation. The camera feed wire has what appears to be a red power line on it that doesn't get used. I'm guessing this cable is more universal and has multiple uses, but why not clip that wire or tell us in the directions to so do? Not a big deal but wasted some time routing this wire with the cable.

Great addition to the truck, 2.5 out of 5 wrenches for difficulty. Would recommend.

I got mine a couple days ago but have not installed it yet. I saw the instructions and thought the same thing about the power harness wiring going to passenger side and camera wiring to drivers side. My only thought was that perhaps having power harness could cause interference to camera signal? Otherwise, it seems like a waste of time doing double work.

I have 2 questions.

What did you do with the red wire with the camera? Did you cut it or roll it up and stuff it somewhere?

Secondly, could you please post a photo of the rear camera install? I forgot to order the housing for it and am a little confused as to the orientation the camera should be. The way the foot bracket is installed makes it look like the wide side is the top. This seems counterintuitive to me. I figured the large flat surface should be the base.

Thanks.
