Maybe it's a flat bracket that won't interfere with the roof rack somehow and they can just lift your tent with a lift a bit to slide in the new bracket.
Yep, that’s why I’d need to see it first. It almost certainly will lift the front end of my roof rack by some degree, the only question is how much? And, I don’t think I want that. At minimum, I would probably have to add a shim or something on the middle and back. Sounds like a real David Hasselhoff!

Looking at the roof mounts, it's almost certain Tesla will use some form of cant rail bracket for this.

They aren’t likely to make it something that precludes the use of their own oem crossbars I don’t think

There's not much there assuming a bracket can even slot in. If it did, it would raise the fastening surface...

Okay. My lightbar is firmly attached and with the new primer so I'm probably in the "just need two brackets" camp. Hopefully, they look decent. Wondering if they'll use the roof attach points (3o minute appointment!) or Cant rail attachment points somehow. The advantage of the Cant rail bracket fix is that it frees up the roof attachment points.
I really hope they don't use the roof attachment points. The clean look is the one single advantage the OEM one has. I don't want brackets attached to the roof mounting points.

💯!!! If I’m going to have a goofy bracket on there, then I can also have: much brighter lights, color LEDs and lasers and shit and whatever else third parties are offering these days!!!

I really think it'd be a flat black bar that just fits over the light. You wouldn't even be able to see it from the ground. like this ---^
LOL. That's some seriously good asci art there. Let me try with my very limited editing from work here:

Just a flat bar that would be mostly hidden by the Cant rail and height above eyeline.

But since the Cant rails are right there, I could see some form of bracket made to slide in the gap and act as a cap for both sides.

Like this for a Cant Rail bracket. It's dotted where it's behind the Cant rail. The red part would be visible but if it were made of the same material as the light, you wouldn't really see it.

Here's a picture from the side to show the Cant rail position.

We’ll see you soon enough they are clever people so I hope they don’t do something lazy and asinine. But honestly whatever they come up with I’m probably going to abstain and stick with what I’ve got. (Pun most definitely intended!)

They also need to leave the corner of the cantrail untouched to not interfere with their own cybertent rear straps. Those buckle onto the front of the cantrail apex.

They might be able to do it with a new Cantrail where the underlying bracket has the lighhbar hold down integrated. Add that feature after of the apex or offset inward to clear the tent clip.

LOL. Yeah, that's a goofy bracket for sure! I'm sure it's effective and probably goes with someone's motif. Not mine, but someone's.

I’m just dying to know about the secret lightbar but have been exercising self restraint due to respecting the bubble wrap strategy.
That's the Tesla one in its packaging. The optics are too directional and I can't see which segments are on without it.

It's a shelf bracket sitting on foam with zip ties holding the lights on. Purely prototype.
