How is tire alignment from the factory?

My 2018 Model 3 got 40,000 on each set of tires, but my Cybertruck got 18,000 with terrible wear on the front. I never felt anything different while driving, but it needed an alignment. I called many shops in the area, including those who regularly worked on Teslas, but none would touch it, so I went to Tesla for the alignment. I’m hopeful these tires will last longer.

I replaced the original tires on my 24 AWD CT ten days ago, at 16,811 miles. Largely because the right rear wheel had been exhibiting accelerated tire wear since the vehicle was new. (I still had some months of tread left on the other three tires).

I assume that accelerated wear was because of an alignment issue - despite there being no discernible driving dynamics foibles. No uneven wear on individual tires, no unusual vibrations or harmonics, no off-center steering. Nada. The truck tracked beautifully, even when pushed aggressively on tight, technical back roads.

I had the Service Center perform a wheel alignment as part of the recent tire change and the tech noted:

"... found all measurements within specification but were not matched. Performed four-wheel alignment and test drove vehicle to verify vehicle tracks straight."

I'll find out in a few thousand miles if the fresh alignment made a difference.

Whether it did or didn't... the truck drives like a dream.

I own 2024 FS Cybertruck and had to have the alignment corrected after taking ownership. Before that I had 2021 Model Y with now alignment at pickup. I would recommend getting it checked at your first rotation to make sure you don't blow threw a set of new tires.

My alignment was well within spec when checked at ~500mi. There is probably the normal Tesla variation here. Of note though, the factory AT tires will wear quickly due to the shallow tread depth and soft tire.
