I've had my CT for over 18 months. Yesterday, I noticed what I thought looked like mouse activity inside the truck (chewed my daughter's car seat). So last night I put in a couple traps. This morning there was a mouse in one of the traps. How could a mouse possibly get into the truck? Seals look fine, I don't keep the doors or windows open. It's really bizarre to me. Any ideas how a mouse could gain access?

It happens more often in colder weather where the rodents gravitate towards heat sources.
My MS’ hvac was partly eaten by rodents last year. ~$600 of damage.
The service center said that they had an X in the shop with thousands of $$ in damages from rodents.
This was the first time I’ve ever been a victim of rodent damage. I learned that it is sadly common. And can be expensive to repair. The rodents don’t care what vehicle or source their food or bedding is.

My CT just got out of the shop, had about $5k in rodent damage to the interior and low and high voltage cables. They came in through the brake pedal firewall seal, and chewed through a bunch of wires and insulation, and carpets. They ate through 8 speakers and made nest everywhere. All this happened while we were on vacation during thanksgiving. My insurance covered it all under comprehensive coverage. Truck had to be towed as it wouldn’t even turn on. Was terrible

My house backs into a wooded area, I literally have a yearly battle with those fucks. There is nothing more I hate than mice, I have traps set up everywhere, even got a cat, which has become my favorite pet after numerous dogs due to her bringing me 4 dead mice recently.

Just a couple pics. Tesla sent me several more as they were disassembling the truck to locate the damage. It even shorted out a battery

Wow! That's insane. Yeah my garage is heated plus it's been below zero here for weeks, so they are definitely looking for warmth. I just didn't think they would be able to get into the truck. This year was also the first yeah they've gotten into our Yukon. I'm working on trying to find a mass mice eliminator device or something.

There are plenty of ways for mice to get into the CT. It's a huge problem with cars and more so with EVs.
Why more so with EVs? Instinctively I would think less.

We are just as puzzled. This mouse got into the cyberbeast and my wife’s C8 HTC and the vette is still in the shop. Interior damages and engine damages on that one are currently at $13k and climbing

I guess another question is whether or not the CT already had a way for the mice to get access or if they made (chewed) a path to get access. If it's the latter it would be nice to seal up whatever path they made, but who knows if I could ever find it.

I know simple steel wool keeps them from climbing into the house next to pipes but not sure if it would hold up in the CT around seals.
