This delete actually makes more sense than a small, tiny, and useless mirror.
The aftermarket will provide if trucks ever start being delivered in bigger numbers. I'd make it myself if I had a truck.I tried removing the rearview mirror but could not stand the empty hexagon recessed base and put the mirror back up. I wish someone would come up with a filler for the mirror base to make it flush with the rest of the overhead console.
Why not just purchase a snap on convex mirror?Has anyone seen a replacement/cover for a convex backseat kid mirror that could be used?
Imagine ifMission accomplished!
I think they did a great job, almost encouraging you to take it off. I've never seen a manufacturer have a tab/flappy door waiting for you after you remove an OEM part to snap in place to finish it. I think the hexagon recessed area looks cool/great and have no issues with it, but can understand why some people might feel differently. The one thing is true: improved visibility out the front!

ASKING THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONSI will want to remove mine but then where will I hang my work parking garage hang tag![]()
I've had my truck over a month now. Using the screen to see the rear view is actually much better than a mirror. The screen display is closer to the same level as looking out the windshield. Also, more in line. As soon as you are used to it, you will wonder why Tesla would not add this screen view to all its vehicles. No, what is needed is having a slightly bigger rear view mirror with the rear camera view displayed on it (not the big screen).
