It’s a heck of a deal but I understand your 2nd thoughts. When I bought my truck there was an off grid cabin on 40 acres for roughly the same price. The worst thing about buying the truck is you are going to get shit on and harassed by people, happens every time I drive mine.
I have gotten 3 thumbs down, and one finger so far, however all the excitement of people that want to see my truck, take pictures, and thumbs up out weights the bad. Tomorrow is flag day! can't wait! the American flag will be flying everywhere! and on all of my trucks
I have 5 homes, 3 of them are multi-unit rental properties, a 6043 sq ft lake house on lake laniner GA, a time share in FL ,
I'm set with off grid living!
enjoy the woods.

My brothers and I loved cars. We’d talk about drives we’d want to take with our dream rides. Both of them died suddenly of heart attacks in the last two years in their early 50s.

Get the car. Pick your favourite road and playlist. You may not get another chance.
Heavy stuff, I'm sorry to hear.

Convincing too. We've got two young kids (my daughter loves the cybertruck!) so I think some of the cold feet is just thinking "I could put the extra $1k" away for my kids or something - even though we already save for that.

I've been driving one for a demo drive, and frankly most people have ignored it. Of course I'm in Texas and there are quite a few driving around so some of the novelty has worn off.

I use my cyber beast truck bed every day whether I put my stuff in the back and it closes up in the vault things stage water tight or I put stuff in the rear cab when I fold up the seats. I could put a lot of stuff in there like copy machines, computers, printers. High end electronics I don’t have to worry about moisture. I have 18 locations and I constantly drive around taking care of their computer needs.

do it! you will never regret it!
This ☝! I ordered in 2024 when I got the FS CB config invite. That doesn't mean I didn't agonize and whiteboard the cost, my Model Y trade-in value, fees, insurance, interest rates, work vehicle suitabilty etc... multiple ways until it looked like a CSI meme. I stared at it, and watched the Hagerty Jason Cammisa video, and stared at the whiteboard again. And I ordered. Once I made that leap, I was at peace.

Let me tell you, it's not been perfect, but it's been the weirdest, most wonderful, most exhilarating, thing I have ever given myself. I am jealous of the end of run deals that are being offered, but I don't regret my decision at all.

Don't feel too bad, I bought an all-wheel drive foundation series about a month ago, and liked it so much I ordered a Foundation Series Beast which I'm taking delivery of next week. My goal is to put it in my climate controlled man cave and put as little miles on it as possible and hope that someday it will gain collectors status and I might even make a buck or two! Guess I need to go to cyberholics!! Just out of curiosity, since you bought it long ago, what is the vin number? If it's quite low, I might be willing to trade you for the one I have on order, and pay you some cash to get the lower vin.

Been through this more times than I can count as someone super financially conscious. If you really wanted it and it's financially feasible go for it. You're clearly not impulse buying, that tells me that you wanted this bad enough to do a long drawn out, researched purchase; with pricing at the bottom of the cost curve for this model.

As I said, I've done this a handful of times with sports cars and expensive trucks. You get that sinking gut feeling all the way up to when the paper work is signed. Once that part is done, the pressure comes off because you are committed at that point. That's where the enjoyment kicks on and you'll be glad you did it.

Good luck with whatever your decision is!

All the more reason to get the truck! I'm not careless financially by any means, but she'll remember the day that truck comes home and the trips you take together more than a few extra bucks for her college. If you can afford it, and you've taken care of the important things, don't feel bad about doing something fun and making memories. Kids grow up fast.

I’m a very early reservation holder who has been dying to buy a Cybertruck since the 2019 announcement.

I absolutely don’t “need” a Cybertruck, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting one.

I was able to get a foundation series beast reserved with free supercharging, $12k off, and now the 0% financing offer.
Right now I’m finishing up a 48 hour test drive and am reminded of how much I enjoyed driving one the first time.

However, now that my Sunday delivery date draws nearer I’m getting cold feet about spending so much money on a definite luxury.

i can “afford it” but keep thinking of what else I could do with the 108k.

I also keep coming back to this being the end of the Foundation series. It seems unlikely there will ever be another 0% + free supercharging offer anytime soon as I’ve seen the local stock vanish. In hindsight I maybe should have saved $20k and picked up an AWD Foundation but they’re long since gone in my local area.

I’m really mostly venting a bit, but I welcome any advice either way on what to do! Should I just go ahead with it and sell it if it becomes a guilty burden?
if you've waited this long and getting ALL of those benefits and still have "cold feet", wth? Clearly, you shouldn't do it because it doesn't get better than that so......

Dude.... If, again, you can afford it and it not hurt you or your family financially, once you get it, get used to it, FULLY understand it (trust me you dont yet), you're going to be ruined for life by it. It's the most amazing thing I've ever driven. It's doing things well NO pickup has the right to.

Lastly if the attention it recieves is an issue for you that might be a factor for you. It still gets attention. Kids love it, adults do too and then there are those that don't (and thats just fine too). Park it in any parking spot you like and let folks ding their doors on your doors, (your doors don't ding) you really dont have to worry about that anymore.

This thing is a bulletproof tank, safer than anything in its class, a Lamborghini, a pickup truck, a full 4 wheel lifted locked off road workhorse, a concert (stereo is next level - they didnt have to make it that good but they did) and a chauffeur. Get it and grin like the Cheshire Cat every time you drive it. Drive by wire will spoil you forever. F-O-R-E-V-E-R....

Good luck!

I’ve lived in Kansas and Colorado with the truck. Had it over a year and something minor happens every time I drive it, Middle finger, thumbs down or pointed at laughed at. I’ve been yelled at and swerved at a few times. Lots of Subaru soy boys where I’m at. Hell, I’ve been flipped of 5 times on a 3 hour drive. What a world y’all live in that don’t experience this reaction constantly!

If you're conflicted you should probably pass. No one "needs" a Cybertruck and, in fact, an enormous percentage of pickup drivers don't need a pickup truck. I bought one because I prefer pickup trucks to other vehicles. They offer a lot of the benefits of a full-size SUV with a bed vs internal storage. I find it convenient to toss things in the bed vs carefully placing things in the back of an SUV.

All of my most recent vehicles have been P/U ICE and EV. I still have a first edition Hummer SUT. So if you are trying to justify that you need this vehicle then you may come up short.

I almost passed on my CT and now that I have it and can't imagine what I could possibly get next other than an updated Cybertruck.

I have mine at my home in NJ and I had one person thumbs down one time. I felt bad for them that my choice of vehicle triggered them. I also felt he was misguided in thinking I cared what he thought.
