It’s hard to imagine they would give up on the cyber truck already. I mean in reality it’s been a concept since 2019. But if you have been to the Austin manufacturing facility, it is absolutely a monstrosity. I work in construction and we’ve been doing work there since the beginning. I can’t imagine what they could convert to and utilize that space. And they are still building.

That said, Ford’s blue oval projects in Memphis and in Louisville total $11 billion and they’re going to repurpose the EV plant it so I guess anything is possible when your profit comes from selling internal combustion vehicles.
There, I fixed it.

You are the only one who brought up personality. No one has worshipped Elon's personality. His effectiveness is demonstrated by his actual results.
Revenues are down, profits are down, market share is down, sales have fallen off a cliff in some key markets, no new models in sight. It’s hard to argue that things are unequivocally rosy.

I agree that Elon was one key component in driving Tesla to the position it had. Credit where due. I’m not sure it’s clear he is adding value to the company now.

Using the RWD model, take out the manual controls (wheel & pedals), remove rear seats, rear screen and install a package rack for smaller parcels. Larger packages go into the bed in back.

Put a jump seat in the front for the delivery person.

They just sit there listen to tunes or watch videos and when it arrives at a package delivery address, grabs the package from the back row or bed. Jump out and jump back in...onto the next destination.

No way anyone buys a CT without steering wheel and pedals for personal use. It would purely be for commercial purposes. I love FSD and use it daily, but it can not and will not ever be able to do everything without a wheel and pedals. First example that comes to mind… I go fishing around my area and just browsing around looking for a spot and I see an area and pull over going off the road and park. FSD can’t do that on its own. It’s A to B, it can’t slow down for me to look and then at the last second pull over and park.

For all that I admire Elon, the "autonomous" fetish gets tiresome after a while. Perhaps he intends to upload his consciousness into Gen6 Super-Optimus and colonize Mars leaving us Gen0 biobots behind.

Absolutely, I think putting Uber drivers out of work is as far as that will go. I love FSD, I use it to drive me to work on certain days, but other days I just enjoy driving. I don't think he comprehends that want to drive.

CT in 2026?

The CT is not practical to use as a last mile delivery vehicle. Removing delivery boxes from the bed would be a PITA and you don’t need seating for 5 adults. It’s just wasted space.

A SS Cybervan would make the perfect delivery vehicle. A durable exterior with no paint to maintain would also have been a hit with small delivery businesses, tradesman, building contractors, etc.

Yeah the peak Tesla days may be behind us , from an automaker standpoint. Stock may go up, but operating margin peaked in 22 and that’s when we got our plaid and cyber on deck.

I love my plaid and cyber so much, but I doubt we will get innovative, far out products in the automotive world from Tesla ever again.

Elon wants pay package and focus on margin now.

This club has become an absolute circus of nothing but elementary pontificators who do nothing but assume the worst. You all in this chat can pretty much talk each other into the end of the world. You may as well go ahead and get rid of your trucks now… give up the dream you have been incredibly blessed with and (hopefully) enjoyed. Take a look at the half empty glass and your huge loss and wonder how you could of spent your money elsewhere…

I on the other hand like to look at this whole experience as one of the most happiest times of my life…. Yeah that’s right… I learned a long time ago that in this CyberTruck club that you need to believe NOTHING what you hear and only half of what you see.

Does your experience of the truck DEPEND on your assumption of where Tesla is going? Seriously… your letting the direction of a company, of which is ONLY speculation at best, determine how and what you feel about what’s going to happen. This reminds me of elementary school days… absolutely pathetic.

Get back to living your dream!!!

Ford should have built an EV from the ground up instead of inserting batteries and motors in the F150 ICE frame. Ford is giving up, regressing to the extra complexity and added parts of an engine and smaller batteries in this EREV. I for one remain skeptical of Ford EREV reliability until they prove it.
ford problem is the battery cost. $47,000 to replace

So, the business model is paying someone full time as a rider, instead of a driver? How does this improve over vehicles with a driver that are far more efficient by virtue of several times more cargo capacity, allowing them to deliver more packages per total miles driven?
