Interesting, your version is different than what I have. I wonder if some of the geometry is lost in the STL file? When I open the STL file it looks correct in my slicing app.

I picked mine up off of Etsy, it looks like it assembles the same using the little printed I-beam pieces, but yeah, the bases on mine are solid and tall.

Here is how I recommend you assemble it.

Step 1 is assemble 1 side first with both dowels. You only need to glue the ends of the antlers that touch, the dowels dont need glue.

Step 2-4 is add the 3 remaining parts on to the first side, 1 piece at a time. Gluing all the sides that touch (sides and ends)

Pushing in the dowels is a bit tough, I was able to do it pressing together the parts resting on a towel for cushion. I do not recommend a vice grip, it will damage the antlers.

You're welcome to post the nose on MakerWorld.

I cannot post your Rudolf nose on MakerWorld because 'Share' is disabled and 'Remix' requires the existing model and you never posted the nose to MakerWorld. I would never take credit for someone else's creative work so I cannot post it there. Here is the revision. CTOC will not let me upload the .3mf file for some reason. All I did there was to reorient so that the mount is the base. That way I didn't need supports.

and those magnets are strong enough for the weak magnetic effect of the stainless?
Yeah, no problems so far. I've been driving around with it for the last couple of days, it hasn't moved it all.

Looks great! I had designed the nose to be lower and attached on top of the plastic bumper. It looks much better when attached to the front like that. I wouldn't recommend people do that to the raw SS. Every time I have used adhesives on the SS it left a residue that is extremely hard to remove.

Regarding the credit, that isn't needed, thanks for asking. I would just link them to the MarkersWorld files if anything.

What printer? I have a Bambulab H2S and the MakerWorld link Pops provided printed just fine.

Re the dowels, is it that you cannot get them in at all or you cannot get them in all the way to the bottom? I wasn’t able to get them all the way in but it wasn’t needed.

the problem I had is not knowing how much of the loctite to use, so I ended up using 2 tubes :)

Sorry you are having trouble. They are wider than the hole, that's what gives them a tight fit. This might be a problem with the nozzle you are using and it isnt able to print at that detail level.

Here are the dimensions of the holes and the dowels in mm. You can try making a custom sized one to fit in your print. The difference in width of the dowel is only 0.1mm, thinner than a bee's dick.

Hole, 5mm wide.

Dowel 5.1mm wide.
