Dead truck.

Loaded some addresses into the truck and headed out of the driveway to view Christmas light displays at locations posted online. I made it about 100ft down the road and had to stop to clear the headlights. Got back into the truck and started getting all the lights and warnings. I barely made it back to the house by backing down the street right into my driveway. Tried a few things, screen reboot, hard reboot, nothing. Now, I am locked INSIDE the truck. and nothing is working. No power at all, no screen, no window power, I had to use the emergency release...and I was REAL careful when I closed the door.

Sorry to hear. These posts always make me nervous. When business is normal, I hate seeing vehicles just die. If you drove through a huge ditch just because you felt like it, that’d be one thing. This is another.

The real question is when failures like this occur and the truck is out of warranty, then what? Oh well? Pay us the money to fix it or buy a new one? This is what scares me about long term ownership.

It's totally dead, tried the key, card can't open the tonneau cover, can't open the tailgate, can't open the door. I tried restarting my phone no difference. totally dead. I have 59,000 mi on it so the general warranty is expired but the powertrain is still active if it is not the powertrain, I'm screwed.

Most likely the 48v battery died. Did you try to jump it?

Most likely the 48v battery died. Did you try to jump it?

After 17 months? I did not try to jump it.

No, it stopped stuttering. I told the service center about it and they said okay keep an eye on it but it stopped.

Anyone know how to get the charging hatch open when you can't get the tailgate open?

Put a jump pack on it and see if that lets you back in. That might tell you if it’s the 48v battery. Yea I would expect it to last a lot longer but that’s a relatively cheap repair if it is just the battery.

You won’t be able to open the tail gate or bed cover of the 48v battery is dead. If you get a jump pack on it you should be able to open everything

Yes the harness to jump it is on the driver side wheel near the front.

Well technically that will let you open the frunk, then look at the manual there is link in there to jump start too. You’ll pull off the top panel then jump it with the post connectors.
