They initially responded in 18th, so I replied back with refund request.

No response since then.

the last communication was Thursday early morning.
Well thats not good, keep us posted on how you make out. I assume they are going to have several returns given the replies in this thread and I hope everyone is able to get a refund.

Put the bracket up against the cable without the screws tightened but enough so it just touches the bracket and you can trace the cable outline onto the bracket so your friend will know where to cut, give it a little margin of error so it has wiggle room. See my post link earlier in the thread, it has pics of me doing it.
I just decided to have him cut the bracket to look like yours. I didn’t want to have to leave in the middle of the project. I hope it works!
It only took him about 7 minutes instead of me working on it for hours and needing a trip to the ER.

I installed the swivel screen and I really like the end result
But without cutting the bracket as shown in the previous post, it would be absolutely impossible without risking damage to the connection port.
One thing I noticed was with the screen a fair bit closer it actually does seem lower. Raising the screen a few inches - 3-5 inches would actually be quite
helpful and wouldn’t block outward vision at all.

Here are some photos.

to release the cable from the temperature sensor, you need to push a tab

One of the most difficult tasks was removing this plastic trim piece. I’d recommend printing the screen inside, get comfortable and another set of hands then with a pick tool pull upward on the middle part while someone else is pulling the trim piece out of the slot

You can see that without that notch, the cable would not be inserted safely

Relooking at this, I would prefer raising the height only about 2 inches.

Nice job, again this shouldn't require this much modification, but in the end it'll work and now it'll be safe. Hopefully they fix this issue soon, I'd consider getting the V2 to replace my V1, but not until this flaw is fixed, it's too risky as is.

i contacted them on whatsapp and let them know im not happy with leaving this swivel on putting pressure on the cable like that and asked for a return/refund. they told me they have an updated fix for this issue and will ship me another one either today or tomorrow, if that was ok with me. i accepted and now just waiting for it. i also asked for a picture of the update bracket. i really liked to be able to swivel the screen, but didnt want the long term risk of damage to the screen, so hopefully the update version is good now. i suspect they are just milling or cutting a notch like some others are doing here. im capable of doing the notch but for the price it should come ready to go. plus i didnt want to risk damaging it then i wouldnt have to option of a return/refund.

Hey, can you please post pics of this when you get it? I am curious to see the fix their engineers came up with. That was a pretty quick turnaround (I guess because so many of us had the same issue) so I'd assume they are going to cut it too.

I think the easiest thing to do is to add height to the bracket about 5 mm just at the ends where the bolts go. This is effectively “adding washers.” In fact adding an inch or two of height here would raise the screen to where I would like it. The plastic covers would need to be adjusted I’m thinking. Let’s see what they come up with

Sure, but that would require a new bracket, I don't see how they got that done in a week or two. It would be easier to send a bag of washers, which is a crappy fix. Either way the plastic cover would need to be adjusted. I added one washer and ended up having to cut the plastic because the height increase kept making it pop off. Keep us posted.

that kinda defeats the purpose of the new design. its supposed to keep it the same height, its slightly lower though, then add in the spacers and it drops it down a little more.

Oh you’re right! I got my logic backwards. Still, if like the option to raise the screen!

Wow, this has turned into an interesting thread - let's hope the vendor comes through.

I just sent an email to the Tesstudio. I'll let you all know what their response is. In the meantime, I suggest not purchasing the screen swivel until this is resolved.

The new design would keep it roughly the same height as OEM. The spacers would actually raise the height of the screen to whatever thickness the spacer is.
