Anybody who doesn’t think Tesla’s reputation has taken a hit has divorced themselves from reality. Even EM has acknowledged that.

Elon thinks it’s going to be a trivial matter to course correct. I’ll take the under on that.

Many of Tesla‘s future plans depend on consumer trust. Optimus, X as a financial platform, etc.

I can only speak for myself: I no longer consider Elon to be a reliable partner. I went from definitely planning to be the first person with an Optimus in my home, to not trusting that I won’t end up with some creepy little partisan troll-bot “glitching” and preaching EMs politics in my living room.

Overpaying for early access to the FS/CB has forever changed the way I will engage with Tesla. Unkept promises on range, range extenders, having a flagship model that doesn’t have key features (matrix lights, HomeLink, dumb summon, lane centering) and being denied concessions offered to late comers won’t be soon forgotten.

I certainly don’t have any faith in Tesla‘s governing board to do anything to rein in any over reach or mission creep or other substantial missteps because they are toothless.

So, we’ll see how this goes. I’m exclusively and coolly transactional with Tesla from here out. I’m long on the stock but not dedicated to holding it.

They don’t produce the kinds of vehicles that I am still looking to purchase, and I expect the ones that I have to last for the rest of my lifetime. In either case, it’s extremely unlikely that I’ll buy another Tesla. After eight years of waiting, I’ve lost patience/interest in the New Roadster.

I tried to buy solar from them earlier this year, that process was a natural-born cluster fuck ending in no deal and only further tarnishing my opinion.

Starlink works great. I think I’ve done more than enough to support the company.

Exactly and well said.

After 10 years of driving nothing but Tesla, waving the flag at car shows, providing test drives, I too am essentially done with the company.

I was burned a few times over the years with other sketchy marketing flip flops and I'm not thrilled by how my FS purchase lost its luster so quickly due to the meth-fueled actions of a certain CEO.

After 10 years of accumulating and holding TSLA, through thick and thin, promises, hype and outright lies, I cashed out during the crazy climb at the end of last year. I won't buy back in until I see a competent board and rational behavior from the CEO... which I suspect means "never".

Whatever. Hero to Zero in my eyes. And all so unnecessary.

Got a LOL from me here.

I wonder what data harvesting this thing will require as well.

Axios and Newsweek, please… Their polls are so biased and so left leaning it’s not even funny. Tesla is an amazing company and started the EV revolution. They have only brought amazing products for the past 13+ years. So, how is that the reputation was tarnished? As for SpaceX, really? Name another space company doing what they’re doing. Please do not mention Blue Origin.

Meh.. all the democrats that championed EM bailed.. politics does that to people. People that care too much about politics will flip their opinions based on what is in en vogue with their stated party. Happens in both sides equally… For the rest of us… Tesla and SpaceX will continue to make far and away the best products (FSD, reusable rockets, etc) that no competitor is even close to touching.. but those that think less of Tesla and SpaceX can go invest and buy Honda prologues and champion Blue Origin.. that’s everyone’s right to choose inferior products for what they believe. No qualms about it nor any disagreement. Not how I roll, but a CEOs political opinions don’t sway me like others. To each their own
