Finished my rear flood light install today. So far, no error messages or trailer icon. I needed to chop the trailer connector in 1/2 or more to be able to put the cover in place- otherwise the open cover of the connector was protruding enough to prevent the cover from sitting in property.

Interesting that you’re not getting any alerts for the trailer. Is it possible that it is the truck senses it when you have the other wires connected for the brake and turn signals

Spoke too soon, the trailer warning light is on!
it isn't really a warning light .. it is just letting you know that a trailer is "connected" (or really just trailer wiring). I have multiple sets of lights plugged into my trailer light outputs for light bar brake/directional/reverse lights (one on the bumper and one up high on a cross beam that has a front LED flood light and a rear brake/directional/reverse lights). Every time I drive I do have to hit the little gear icon on the pop up window to tell the truck I am not actually in trailer mode - but I don't think it hurts anything as long as you set it to not really trailering :). If you leave it as is (and the trailer light is green) I believe the truck will try to brake harder? The range takes an automatic hit if I forget to set it to yellow. But, having it yellow isn't a problem, I don't think?

Does the trailer light popping on affect FSD usage? As I understand it, you currently can't use FSD while towing, right?

Stupid question (maybe) why tap into the trailer wiring? Why not tap into the reverse lights the truck already has? That should eliminate any trailer light issues.
Because this is easy and I don’t know how to get to the reverse light power supply😭

I use FSD all of the time with my truck, and yet I always have the light bars attached .. but I also always hit the setting to not use trailer brakes. I will try tonight on the way home to not hit the setting for turning off trailer brakes and will see if I can use FSD

Oh - and I had to do the same "cut down" of the 7pin trailer adapter to make it fit with the trailer hitch cover installed. I wish they made a smaller one!

If did connect into CT reverse circuit, I believe you will find 48 volts. I added LED tail/brake 9” light strip below bumper, I used 4 wire trailer plug to power lights. I have to turn off Towing in order to use FSD.

The reserve lights are 12v not 48. Have plug and play harness for the reverse light, simple easy morimoto boost bar add on.
