I have a little over 1,000 miles on the CT now. I've noticed a whining sound, most likely the motor on acceleration or slowing down.
Is this normal or should I have the truck checked out.
I also get a rattle vibration from the upper left in the windshield area on gravel or rough side streets.
How is that fixed?

The thing about EVs is they are so quiet that every little noise becomes concerning. I too have a '26 AWD CT and it is the quietest tesla I've ever been in. The whining is the motors as you said. The other noise is the compressor running to enable the different ride heights/easy entry. I added running boards and disabled easy entry and the compressor noise is gone too.

I can't wait for the active noise cancellation to be enabled. Imagine: ANC while FSD. Tesla should start selling pillows and blankets in the shop soon.

There's a whining noise that is just the sound of the motors.

But then there's additional whining noises that can occur. Mine has developed one over the last few months. It's pretty obnoxious. Very loud.

Not sure which you're experiencing.

OK, probably just the motor sound. I can't hear it without my hearing aids, but its there when I'm wired up. Thanks for the input.

Tesla made the motors a little louder for the Cybertruck to give it more of a "Truck sound". A little whine is okay but if you get a lot, I recommend crackers and cheese. :)

OK, I'm relieved about the motor whine noise, but still wondering about the rattle noise near the left side of the windshield.
I would think its probably the outer body, SS strip along the edge of the windshield, but I thought Tesla changed the mounting of that from glue to a tack weld.

It’s still mostly glue. The tack weld is for a stud near the front part of the cantrail.

Coming from a model y, the whining noise was a surprise to me. What I have noticed over the past 20,000 miles is that it seems more prominent first thing in the morning especially when it's colder outside. After a while it seems to mostly fade away. Or maybe it's my own personal noise cancelation kicking in?

New trucks should already have newer designed contrails with the stud, so it's unlikely to be loose. Are you seeing an issue with them delaminating?

I've looked at the panel and can just barely move it just a little bit but for the most part, it seems solid in place. It's just when I'm on some streets that have that rippled surface that I hear that fast rattle noise up there.

You can report that in the app and request a service appointment. Sometimes, they are Johnny on the spot with simple repairs like that. It could be that they'll recognize the sound. Would probably help if you could safely record the sound.

Yeah, I could record it. It's pretty reliable to show up at specific parts of my daily drive and it's loud enough. Good suggestion. Thanks.
