USB charging on the exterior for camping.

I find a need to be able to charge devices while in the Cybertent. I do not want to have to rely on the AC outlets just for USB charging. So I came up with this to do just that. I used the 7 pin trailer plug that ALWAYS has power, even with the truck asleep. This is very simple to construct. I have linked what parts I used. Happy camping!

Correct. Wired just like any other 12 VDC accessory. Super simple.

I even thought about trying to utilize this circuit on the interior as well as the front for surface mount USBs

Figured this circuit would use less electricity than down, stepping the 48 V feed.

You know what would have been great, if Tesla could have given us a constant 12v source like that and a 12v switched source for running accessories and locate them under the dash. So innovative yet dropped the ball BIG TIME with the thought of customizing with aftermarket 12v accessories. I mean, even wiring up a fuzz buster is a damn compromise.

I tapped into the 12 volt auxiliary which you can control by the touch screen Trailer section and mounted an auxiliary panel with USB C and cig lighter port. Works great!!

No, and you can control auxiliary power via Trailer function and it will only give power when it is selected on the screen.
