1973 - my parents wanted me to purchase the (economical and safe) AMC Gremlin, which was hideous (and it turns out a fire death trap). I purchased my first Porsche (used 1962 356B in LA) and kicked off a lifetime of Porsche love....

Also, in the category of most reviled car that I’ve ever owned besides my CT I think our PT Cruiser takes that category. Don’t care; loved it!

Hated this car. Begged my mom not to get it. I still have it 18 years later and love it but it really failed in the looks department.
