Really appreciate that. It means a lot to us! We love building with the community and sharing the journey with folks who are just as into it as we are.

You’re exactly right. The bed rack/cap has both inner and outer panels. That space is used for both storage and structure. Both the outer panels (polycarbonate or MOLLE) and the inside MOLLE panels have hinged openings. So you can access the side storage from outside the truck or from inside the bed. You can even sleep inside the bed with the inner panels closed for safety, while keeping the outer polycarbonate panels open for ventilation during the night.
Do the inside panels hinge downwards to make a shelf or upwards so they can be attached to the top or do they all open outward or what?

The inside MOLLE panels hinge upwards since the sloped bottom doesn’t allow for a downward swing like a traditional cap. This is just the prototype. The final production version will be slightly refined.?

That is freaking awesome. So, sorry for the question peppering, in the window or flat panel version what changes? The inside panels, the outside panels or both?

Just the outside panel is different. The inside will still be MOLLE panels

Which can be open though. Sweet.
Are they removable?
Yea, the flat polycarbonate windows can be opened from the outside too. They’re fully switchable and removable, so you can mix and match - like polycarbonate in the front and MOLLE in the back, or even MOLLE on the driver side and polycarbonate on the passenger side. We’d probably only run that setup at a car show just to show the difference though, lol.

So cool. So if I put down the $100 deposit when do you think you’re going to be ready? No pressure, just want a ballpark idea.
Also, the “enclosed bed cap” means the poly windows and the “flat panel rack” means the metal panels and the molle rack means …well…molle?
Does it matter which one I pay the deposit on?
Do you expect them to be about the same price?

We’re currently working on the final packaging details, and we’re on track to start shipping by late June, with deliveries happening in July.

We will be adding more info to the product page soon but just to help clarify when we say “Flat Panel Rack” we mean the poly side panel rack. That will be the same price as the MOLLE version. The Enclosed Bed Cap includes the top and rear closures in addition to the Flat Panel rack so that setup will be priced a bit higher.

Hope that clears things up.?

It does, it does. One more question, is there any accommodation for running portable ac in the enclosed bed cap like a hole for vent tubing?

Guess we will have to do a curtain like this
or a removable aluminum cover with a cutout for the vent, which can be placed there when one of the outer panels is open?

Yeah. I’d say a panel with a hole in it and replaceable foam inserts which can be cut to fit whatever device someone wants to run through there would work well. When I use the foam template in my home windows, it just slips inside the window track. Sorry for the crappy pic but just wanted to demonstrate that the black foam part with the cutout rests exactly where the window would when closed. Something similar could easily be achieved with a panel I think.
You’d just have to have a groove in the panel to accept the foam.

Of course, for what we’d be doing here, this is also a potentially awesome option.

I haven’t seen one in person and I can’t vouch for how well the cabin climate control would work or how efficient/inefficient that would be, but there are a couple of posts about these I’ve seen on this forum.

In case you’re wondering what that is, no, I’m not selling portable air conditioners. My wife underwent surgically induced menopause and chemo last summer so she had a really hard time thermoregulating. She’d have these awful hot flashes so I created an area we called “menopause corner” where you could basically stand in something resembling the arctic circle for a few minutes to cool off. Sometimes we would even go to Costco in flip flops and take our shoes off to stand on the floor in the dairy fridge. Lol.
My kids were running around the house wearing fleeces in the middle of summer in Phoenix, but even with the central ac set to 65-68 she was still very hot.
It was an interesting time. Glad we got through it and it’s all over, but now, as an unexpected benefit, I’m somewhat of an expert on creating freezeout zones in hot climates. ?
I also got really good at running freezers with popsicles and Luigi’s Italian ice in every single one of our cars in the middle of the desert, so if you need advice on that, I’m your guy.

Thanks for the pics! A panel with a foam insert would definitely help, and a window replacement would probably look a lot cleaner lol. Based on our experience though, running the Cybertruck’s AC all night might end up using more kWh than just recharging the EcoFlow the next morning?

@Urander: trying to take my mind off the “Credit Decision Pending” waiting game. Can you tell us a bit more about the Gen 2 awnings? So far I’ve gathered:

-270 degree will be hard case.
-will it have integrated lighting again?
-I assume there will be wall add ons again?
-any other improvements?
-weight?

-360 degree will be soft case.
-zippered roof hatch for RTT access.
-integrated lighting? Add on walls?
-weight?

Yes. Most likely. Anything that requires the truck not tomgo
I placed my 51lb Ecoflow Glacier refrigerator on the last two rows of tmat and it was easy to slide. I cut holes in my tmat panels to allow access to the D rings on the back 4 rows, which prevents sliding them.
Here’s a quick video (I think I can upload a video).

So a couple of questions. Thanks for the video.
It looks like you have xpel armor on the tailgate. Do you have this on the bed too? Does it make it easier to slide?
I tried to order the Cybertruck kit, but I guess that’s not a thing any more. What would you recommend ordering ?
Lastly, I too love batteries and solar and so forth. What are you doing with what looks like 3 delta 2 max’s ? Maybe two and an extra battery? Just curiosity
