I’ve been wanting to share some more of my adventures which I usually get nice photos or video of without sharing my personal social media but it’s been tricky to figure out how to do. You can’t really upload videos here very well and I’ve no interest in being a public influencer on any platform. But I just learned (thanks Chat) that YouTube has a private mode which doesn’t publish the videos but allows anybody with the link to see them. So, here’s what I’m doing with my rig!

Most of these have been uploaded to my Instagram and they allow copyrighted music of short lengths because they pay royalties I’m not sure how that works on YouTube but I guess since they’re not public it may not matter. I’m gonna operate like it’s fair use for now.

Snowbound. First time that the DuraTracks got a reasonable amount of snow under them (probably up to 10 inches in some spots). Nary a slip!

Well, coming from a pro drone pilot, yes, I do it for a living. You’re right about the music licensing. But it’s not giving you commercial gain so you’re good.
Nice drone shots… keep em nice and steady and try not to last more than 5 seconds for each clip cause the viewer will get bored. ????????
Vimeo is a good place to post videos privately as well.

Thanks.

Yeah, I’m more of a stills guy, but since I’ve got an insane number of drones (6?), going all the way back to my original Mavic Pro I’ve been shooting more vids, definitely not for public consumption, more of a video journal for me. More likely than not I’m just throwing the drone up to get interesting still shots. These were shot with my Mavic 3 Pro which is my best flying camera currently.

I do have an FAA license, but no interest in turning the hobby into a professional pursuit. You can count on my videos remaining amateurish I like to linger over scenes for my own reflection of the moments and generally refuse to conform to the short attention span, vertical video nonsense that we’re living through. Hard pass!

The feedback is appreciated nonetheless!

I really like the shot where you're driving through the snow! It looks like that was taken with an Insta 360; is that right? Casey LaDelle on YouTube also does very cool shots while holding the Insta 360 on a stick out his window. I definitely need to get one of those.

Yes, it was! It’s kind of weird

Getting shots with the Insta360. The cybertruck has some angles that just don’t work really well with that particular set up. My Corvette or my FJ are pretty easy to shoot from angles that the geometry of the CT Make really offputting/confusing.

One of my first videos with the Cybertruck using the cyber truck worked a lot better. Shooting out the window at an angle makes a big difference.

This video features is mostly video from the Insta360. Highly recommended especially since you can just enjoy your time and recompose shots later. Image quality isn’t as good as some others but convenience can’t be understated.
