Road wind noise improved with easy fix: lower rear windows slightly!

I had the same exact issue, and dropping the rear windows SLIGHTLY greatly reduced the noise.

I installed the aftermarket door seal kit, and it stopped completely without having to fiddle with window positioning.

Thanks for sharing this. I would have assumed the fix would be some kind of upper seal near the top of the window, but if you’re saying this so solved the same issue all of us are having, I’m going to assume they’re related in someway and take your word for it.

Thanks! Just bought these, because why not? But I have some doubts that it will reduce ALL wind noise, especially the noise caused by the windows flexing. Seems the best self-help solution offered here so far is the re-calibration we can do through settings - still need to try it myself though.

I used that kit and couldn’t tell a difference. And it don’t understand how it even could work, given the lack on contact between the seal and frame.

Yep, that's like my right rear window; and yes, that's what I do, just drop it a smidge.

I did go into the service menu and recalibrate that window, but no change. I think there's a way to set the TOP position, but I can't remember how to do it. I'll have to look.

Same here: only occurs with my rear passenger side window, and only when below 30-34 degrees F.

I had it “fixed” by the SC last March (2025), where they stuff in some foam tubing in the rubber seal around the door frame. It worked last winter but clearly the foam has squished since then.

For what’s it’s worth, I had a loaner CR for a day a couple of weeks ago, and I was really surprised at how quite mine is in comparison - not even close.

And the loaner only had a few hundred miles on the odometer.

I have this problem too. I suspect the service center will be unwilling to fix this and will just say it’s within spec which is frustrating.

At highway speeds my wind noise was pretty loud. All windows were in the upm ost position. And then I tipped the rear windows to drop slightly and the wind noise was gone! The windows sealed the wind and road noise out perfectly by dropping the windows lightly. Crazy!

Mine is in service for that and a few small things now. Especially notable when it’s cold. The key thing is you’re not dropping the window a few millimeters. Go outside and look it drops more like 3/4 of an inch.

I did too. Problem comes back after a bit of time and cold weather. Did the calibration a couple times now.

I also have had this issue since delivery (Jan 2025). I first noticed in in the rear windows but all of mine do it. I live in a cold climate and at altitude so maybe the pressure plays into it as well? I had mine in for service for several issues at one point and told them about this and they said the windows didn't need calibrated. The only thing I"ll add to whats already been stated is that when I roll them down slightly to seal things at high speeds and cold temps, if it happens to be particularly gusty out sometimes the wind will pull the window away from steal and make the mild noise present when the windows are up all the way more of a moderate to severe "wind getting in" sound. So in those cases I'm a bit damned if I do damned if I don't. In those cases I leave them up all they way and take the mild noise - though this condition the exception rather than the rule. I wonder if I calibrated them myself to be a touch lower at fully up if I would be hosed when driving in heavy winds at high speeds?? Good stuff everyone.

They gave me a loaner while they tired to fix mine and it had the same issue with the rear passenger window. Crazy....I gave them this forum link, and explained maybe the window motor needs adjustment... Anyway got it back (haven't really had a chance to test it yet, it's been way too cold and snowy it actually get any real speed, they already tried to fix it last year when the weather was cold, and they jammed a piece a rubber into the weather stripper to put more pressure on the window, but clearly the issue came back this year when things got cold again.
