Of course, that’s why I said it😉. Plus I wasn’t driving my ICE’rs anymore so I sold them, I wouldn't have a choice!
@SlegMD , what are those wheel covers in your Avatar?

We travel last minute all the time and we don't do any planning except make sure our destination has a Level 2 charger for overnight charging. The truck will figure out where and when to charge on the way - we don't care. On the way, when the truck has a supercharger in mind, I hop on Yelp to determine what we will eat when we get there. The truck is done before we are done eating, usually. I just passed 50K miles and I took delivery March 2024.
^^^This^^^ It's great to not over-think something, just because it's new or unfamiliar to you.

I actually prefer travel by EV because the short stops every couple of hours breaks up the trip and forces me to stop where I can stretch the legs and relax and breathe. The short rest stops, combined with FSD, will have you arriving and feeling fresher, ready to enjoy yourself. When I used to drive gasoline powered cars I would arrive wanting to decompress for a couple of hours and then hit the pillow. I'm sure part of that was no FSD. Sure, I could have done the same short rest breaks, and often I would, but it's easier when it's built-in and you get more sense of accomplishment after you throw another two or three hours of driving into the truck and are able to do it while taking a break from driving.

I was thinking about kids fighting (Escalade with captain chairs and 3rd row are great)

Supercruise is very good but no where near the current FSD iteration…..it disables in some construction areas, no backroad driving either
It's been about 50 years since I was a kid with two siblings. My parents taught us not to bicker/fight with each other. I'm not sure how they did it but it probably involved teaching us to respect each other. We had fun on road trips playing car games (like seeing who could spot the most VW Beetles or other silly kid road-trip games).

Good times. Fighting and bickering is a waste of time and shouldn't be tolerated.

Years ago I'd take the two boys camping in a Datsun pickup, so both were strap in one seat belt.....having more room would have been nice. On the other hand is safety. Recently my brother was driving his CT and had a medical emergency and told the truck to drive to the nearest emergency room. FSD took him to the ER entrance!! Either way you go, have a fun safe trip.

Made it from northeast PA to Knoxville in one day in CT, with dog. Nice driving cross country in CT.
A few things:
*More stops means less time charging (faster at lower % charge)
*Stop at a couple of Bucees and shop/eat ... but if you take I-81 (scenic), skip the first one in VA (one road in and out, way too busy)
*Skip all of the planner stuff ... go out to your truck right now and plug in your destination to see what it recommends for route, stops, etc...
*IF you stay overnight somewhere ... just pay attention to your last stop of the day, arrival charge %, and how much charge you'll need to get to the next supercharger (if your hotel doesn't have a Lvl 2 charger)

Take the Cybertruck. My wife, 2 dogs, and I have taken a few long trips with ours. I only trust the Tesla planner but even that I shave off 5%-10% of what it says our arrival SOC will be, so I never let it get to an SC with less than 20% SOC, because risking my family, especially in the winter, is not an option. We stop at SCs 4-5 times a day and we always needed the stop (food, bio breaks, walk the dogs). Don’t try to compare an ICE trip to an EV trip; if you have been minimizing stops in your ICE car then you or your family have probably been uncomfortable.
