I've put together a short troubleshooting video that will hopefully help others.

Previously I had installed the Teslaunch front bumper light bar
https://halocybertruck.com/article-list/f/starlink-bumper-light-bar-from-teslaunch

I had also installed the Hansshow Digital Rear View Mirror:
https://halocybertruck.com/article-list/f/cybertruck-digital-rearview-mirror-from-hansshow-v2

And I had attempted to install the Hansshow LED Dash light strip with blind spot warning capabilities

Some prior testing alerted me to the fact that my B-pillar tweeter was not emitting any sound so I knew it must have been either the front bumper light bar or the rear view mirror modification but I never took the time to resolve it.

However, when I tried to install the LED light strip, the LED strip flat out didn't light up despite all the connection being sound. I decided to start removing items from the equation and noticed that not one but two products actually have issues with cooperating with other products and powering factory items like the B-pillar speaker.

I put together this troubleshooting video to demonstrate what works and what doesn't work. Succinctly, here are my results:

Teslaunch front bumper light bar V2 (V1 had issues for other owners) - powers the B-pillar speaker and powers items after it in the daisy chain. No issues.

Hansshow Digital Rear View Mirror - does NOT power the factory B-pillar speaker and does NOT power items after it in the daisy chain.

Hansshow LED Dash light strip - does NOT power the factory B-pillar speaker and does NOT power items after itself in the daisy chain.

I have report both products with issues to Hansshow and provided them video evidence. My suggested resolution to Hansshow was to re-issue corrected power cables to all affected owners. If I get an update from Hansshow I will let everyone know.

I have updated my Digital Rear View Mirror article to reflect these facts and when I produce my article on the LED dash light strip I will of course report the same findings. If these shortcomings get corrected I will of course update my articles accordingly.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. One additional note, I do have a 10.88 inch 2nd screen sitting in a box that I have not attempted to install yet because it requires plugging into the power connector and obviously it would not work if plugged in after the mirror. I don't know if it supports daisy chaining power yet or not to where I could place the mirror after it in the chain but I believe others have reported some results in that area.

Suffice it to say that manufacturers still seem to be learning how to make items that work well with the Cybertruck.

I just went through this same type of thing. By using the power under the passenger kick panel, I could only get the rearview mirror or the 10.88” screen but not both. Whichever was plugged in first worked fine.

I also have the refrigerator sitting in the front floorboard and it’s plugged into the 110 outlet behind the center console.

My work around was this:
1. I plugged the dash screen in under the passenger side kick panel.
2. A outlet surge protector plugged into the plug behind the center console.
2. 12v AC/DC converter, plugged into the second plug behind the console (fridge plugged into other outlet).
3. The DC converter has a cigarette lighter plug, I have an adapter with a USB to USB-C cord that I ran through the dash and up the driver side trip to the mirror.

This was such a PITA because neither of the orgs I bought the products from provided any valuable feedback on how to make things work. It’s clear that neither of their wiring harnesses were passing power from the power connection under the kick panel. I thought about just splicing into the power cable, but didn’t want to risk overloading the circuit (don’t know what I don’t know).

Regardless, I have it working now and. I have the cigarette lighter plugged behind the screen so I do have another USB-C outlet I could use if I want to do something else.

Interesting but sadly cumbersome workaround when there shouldn't have to be one. Which company made the 10.88 screen and harness? I'm not trying to publicly shame any companies but I did tell Hansshow months ago that it was their wir8ng harness that was at fault but essentially had to "prove" it to them. Let's hope they respond quickly. Perhaps we can get the screen vendor to do the same?

Meanwhile I will ask if I can get the PIN assignments for those fittings and see if I can figure out a workaround.

I had the hansshow v2 mirror and I
the Teslasy 10.88” dash screen. I posted pictures in another thread when I was trying to figure it out.

From what I can tell, the car wiring is setup for daisychain which tells me that it’s their harnesses. I could change the order and whichever source I plugged in first worked fine, but the second in line…no power.

I i used the Teslasy screen in my model Y too and it worked great so I had no problem going with them again. I don’t want to bash them. I think they did try to help, just didn’t know enough about hansshow. They also have a mirror they just released and if you use both of their products they told me they have tested their products together.

II left both mirror and screen daisychained and simply removed the power plug and ran power from center console plug. The mirror requires a 5v DC power source.

BTW - my cigarette lighter adapter had both USB and USB-C plug. I discovered that I had to use a USB to USB-C cable because the straight USB-C wouldn’t work with mirror. It required the 5v DC power source. When I connected the straight USB-C it failed. The mirror would turn on and say no power source and shutoff so something happens with the negotiation for USB-C power that causes it to fail.

Well as shown in my video the wiring harness for the Teslaunch front bumper light bar works just fine in terms of passing power to the next item in the daisy chain and sending power to the wire that ultimately goes to the B-Pillar tweeter speaker. I recall that when those front bumper light bars first came out people had problems with noise in the b-pillar speaker but then those harnesses were fixed and the current ones I am guessing are fine. They certainly demonstrate that daisy chaining power is possible as I have it plugged in first and then have my mirror 2nd behind it and both of them work. Let's hope your vendor and Hansshow get it together and release an updated harness.

I have the V2 Hansshow mirror as well but no other accessories plugged into that harness you were working on in the video, I'd like to test and see if my speaker is working or I have the same issue as you do, is there a way to isolate just that speaker or is the only way putting your ear up to it? It was hard to tell from the video because you can still hear music coming from the other speakers.

@Hansshow Technology - You guys need to fix this ASAP and send out a replacement harness to all owners who have bought your product.

I believe you go into the hidden service menu and you can see all the speakers on one of the tabs.

Yes as mentioned above you can put the truck into service menu and play audio from only that speaker which I did do before shooting the video because I worked that issue separately but didn't capture that work on video. I did verify that during the video I shot by listening to just that speaker but as you said that doesn't come across well since other speakers were playing at the same time. I am certain that if you put your truck into service menu and isolate that speaker and have one of these 2 Hansshow products you will NOT have any audio coming from that speaker.

As for a replacement harness I agree but they could do this in one of 3 ways, let me tell you my PREFERRED way they should fix this.

Way 1 - (The way that manufacturers are likely to go) They will simply produce a complete replacement harness for each product. This is "fine" but requires that existing owners rip out their existing harness and replace with a new one, with something like the mirror that is a lot of work.

Way 2 - Produce a mini-harness with 3 connectors instead of 2. 2 of the connectors would be used to attach to upstream and downstream connectors as it done today but the 3rd connector in the middle connects only to the existing mirror harness input and then the existing mirror harness output connector is simply capped off. This would only require attaching at the point in the footwell and would not require you to rip out your old wiring and replace with all new wiring.

Way 3 - Produce Both and supply a completely new harness in the box for new purchases and send the mini-harness to existing owners unless they prefer a completely new harness and want to rip and replace the old one. In other words a choice.

My preferred method is 3.

I'm going to check it out and see if I have sound from it. I'm not very familiar with the service menu but I'll give it a shot, from your video evidence though im pretty sure all would be affected. Is the harness provided just missing a wire and connector? If its not providing power upstream then id assume they just skipped out on wires in the harness. If so that's just lazy engineering

The tweeter is in the A-pillar, it's the structure both in front of and behind the little window. B-pillar is between the doors.

Connector X0930 has the tweeter, full range, blind spot indicator, and microphone. The only unused pins are 4, 5, and 12. Everything else needs to be passed through.

Are those third party products pulling power from the A2B bus? Pins 6/7 or 13/14 with ground on 11?

Which version of the Hansshow rearview mirror do you have? there are 3 generations, i have the latest one with the front camera built into the mirror, i hope it does not interfere with anything.

@TeslaKen
Ok so i confirmed this is an issue with the hansshow harness. Like I said the only aftermarket item I have that draws power is the V2.5 digital mirror (the one with built in front camera). See video below.
(As Mongo pointed out it is the A pillar speaker not B as i said in the video)

@Hansshow Technology please let us know how you intend on making this right? I would like the use of my speaker back so it functions as its supposed to and the ability to connect other devices in the future. This is a pretty big over sight - unless you knew about it and didnt think anyone would notice.

I have the latest one too with the front camera built into the mirror, so I am sure you have the same issue as well.

Maybe Ken can answer this one for you.. I have no idea about it, but obviously some of the pins in their harness were left out and not passing power thru it or they left the wire out all together in the harness they provide.

i went out and check the sound, putting my ear to the speakers on both sides and they sounded fine to me. BTW, besides the Hansshow rearview mirror i don't have any other fancy gadgets installed.
