I got mine a couple days ago but have not installed it yet. I saw the instructions and thought the same thing about the power harness wiring going to passenger side and camera wiring to drivers side. My only thought was that perhaps having power harness could cause interference to camera signal? Otherwise, it seems like a waste of time doing double work.

I have 2 questions.

What did you do with the red wire with the camera? Did you cut it or roll it up and stuff it somewhere?

Secondly, could you please post a photo of the rear camera install? I forgot to order the housing for it and am a little confused as to the orientation the camera should be. The way the foot bracket is installed makes it look like the wide side is the top. This seems counterintuitive to me. I figured the large flat surface should be the base.

Thanks.

Red wire does not matter. I left it on because was too lazy to fish it out to cut after I got everything installed

Camera goes on just as you say, small side down. I did tighten up the side screws after confirming the sight picture was appropriate. Even so, you can move up and down on the screen

Thanks for those answers.
Maybe, I'll just coil the red wire and stuff it in the headliner just in case they come up with a use for it.
It seems so weird the the camera is oriented that way, but it is what it is. I am going to see if I can find a cover that fits it. I think it looks nicer and seems more secure with the cover on it.

It's just repackaging a mirror dash cam with a custom wiring harness. The red wire is intended to be hooked up to the backup lights to trigger a backup cam view with guide lines. The camera is definitely upside down from what's intended, in the version of the dash cam mirror I have, you can invert both the camera image in the settings as well as flip the mount, so whatever works best for your mounting location is likely best.

Thank you. I am looking into getting a housing as I think it looks more streamlined and is perhaps more protected from the elements.

Is there a way to get the date and time off the mirror? I don't need to see them, especially the date, and they cover a good bit of the screen.

the housing goes end to end on that trim piece, and sits up a good bit. If I can find a smaller 3d printed one I will likely grab it.

I am getting one from member JessieG9613 on the forum. He runs a 3d print shop on Etsy. I will post it when I get it.
He made this one and It should be similar. I like the angular appearance as it feels like it blends into the CT shape.

Sorry but I honestly don’t understand the need for this. Everything is perfectly clear on screen so why you need a second screen plus the risk of messing up other electronics on the truck. Have the truck for over a year and never feel the need for it.
Agree regarding the front camera: why?

However, for rear/center "mirror" view, needs for a better view in situations like:

1. tailgate down for hauling "stuff" like lumber and sheet goods (4x8 plywood, etc.).
2. bikes on a hitch rack. I did a short 130 mile one-way trip and my rear mirror view was 90% my bike, blocking anything useful in the camera FOV.

Rivian has a rear-facing roof mounted camera for rear view/center mirror. I wish Cybertruck had this. But not enough for me to consider a Rivian: no FSD!

Oh great, I ordered the v2.0 mirror in early May. It took +3 weeks to get delivered. Everything looks completely different from the one I received. Mine is the larger 11” mirror, but the back doesn’t look anything like the one in the video and rear camera is completely different. I installed mine in early June and it worked for about a week and then the video started to freeze and the mirror would contineously restart. Hansshow sent me another SD card and new video extension cable. That seemed to fix all the problems. However, I just returned from a longer trip and video display started freezing again. It would freeze randomly. Sometimes it would freeze within a few minutes after startup and other times it would stay on for more than hour. The annoyning part is you never know when until you really look at the video and noticed nothing is moving. Like getting off the freeway for a Supercharger stop and display is still showing the freeway view.

Just received mine a couple days ago. I went to install it. Installation videos are not good, especially for a beginner. Once I figured out how to expose the area under the dash (from the passenger side), the video says to unplug the 4th plug from the door. I didn’t have a connector that went with that. Looking through multiple install videos, it looks like maybe the 5th or 6th from the door. Then, I discovered that I don’t have a wire/connector for that at all, included in the box. I then noticed I only have a front camera, no rear one. So, I’m a novice trying to install this with terrible instructions and apparently an incomplete set of parts. Had to throw in the towel and email the company. I’m still awaiting a response. The written instructions don’t make sense and the video instructions are awful. I wish I would have read more reviews before purchasing.
If the company corrects the issue and gets the the right parts and instructions that apply to this system, I will gladly update my post. As for now, huge regret.

try the install directions instead of the videos. I did mine that way, got it installed in a couple of hours. The directions are not the greatest- they have you attach the mirror at the beginning when you should truly wait till the last step or be prepared to take it down about 3 times at least. The instructions I pulled up with the QR code also showed a separate front camera that is no longer part of the system. That being said, the pictures in the directions make it pretty easy to find the right plug and so on.

If you only have one camera to attach but have a camera integrated in the mirror, that is the latest version. I don't think this is a difficult install. If you have your own tools, use a screwdriver with the torx bit for removing/reinstalling the trim piece over the bed. Other than that, they sent me tools and everything I needed plus an extra adhesive strip for the camera.

The cable I got is a Y. It plugs in easily to the connector/cord you see when you first remove the passenger-side panel. The instructions show another plug into the computer under the glove box area. I did not get a cable/connector for that. When I realized that, I stopped and assumed I didn’t get all the parts. The only camera I got looks more like the ones pictured as front camera. Are you saying what I have sounds right? I don’t need anything to plug under the glove box and the camera I have is the rear camera? I didn’t want to tear anything else up if I had the wrong parts. I’m also scared of messing with weather stripping. None of this will be worth it if I end up with an air leak and wind noise. If I have the right stuff, the next step will be to run the wire and then to install the camera and mirror. Thanks for any information! Email me directly if you want: [email protected].
Thanks again!!!

Only one y cable. You disconnect the truck plug under the dash and put the two ends of the new cable between them. The other end with the USB C plug goes back to the mirror to power it. There is another cable that comes from the rear camera to the port next to the USB-C PORT on the mirror.

see image. The cord I have only has the Y connector on the right of the diagram (larger in the picture). The part that splits and connects to the left (where the blue connector is) is not part of the cord they shipped to me. Do you think it will work? They must have eliminated the need to tap onto the lower left connection.
I also checked and there is a camera on my mirror, so the one in the box must be the rear.
