First time I drove an EV two weeks ago in LA was my cousins Cybertruck! I fell in love with FSD and wanted one of my own! Ordered this week and awaiting pick up. Thanks so much to this forum for all the tips and tricks for an EV Noob. I already know what to look out for during my delivery. Decent deal with one year of supercharging and 0% financing. This thread will serve as my ownership experience with my new Tesla CyberTruck!

What the CyberTruck is Replacing. 2025 Q8. Great SUV. Drove Buttery Smooth, but it wasn’t practical for our needs. Lack of cup holders/storage space. Audi MMI is Atrocious. Took for ever for phones to connect, even when plugged in. Will miss the brown interior!

I noticed they changed the order config to say “traffic aware cruise control” and not “base autopilot”. Does that mean that others are entitled to “base autopilot” in their trucks?

Thanks Sir! Also, I have no clue what you’re talking about. I know nothing about EVs or Tesla. If you asked me two weeks ago if I would buy an EV or Tesla I would have laughed and said NO (with a word before NO )!

You gotta understand the history of FSD/Autopilot to understand the subtle but important differences:

FSD is considered the most advanced tier of “Autopilot” which is Tesla’s suite of driver assistance software which basically does everything the sub tiers do and also is whats being updated/upgraded by tesla (and costs $8000 or $99/month to include)

below FSD was Enhanced Autopilot which basically did everything autopilot does but also includes red light stop summon and autopark. I dont think this is being sold currently but plenty of cars still have it.

then Autopilot- which includes autosteer (lane keep) as well as Traffic aware cruise control. It also has green light chime and i believe it stops at stop signs but not red lights. As of now- all production Teslas (S3XY) except Cybertruck include Base Autopilot.

then theres just TACC which maintains speed relative to traffic, and will stop at a light behind another car but not very smoothly. It does not include lane keep. This is what Tesla included with CT despite everyones order page saying “base autopilot”

Then on the lowest sub level are the safety features- forward collision avoidance, auto emergency braking, lane departure, Blind spot and now rear traffic.

TLDR: customers ordered CT expecting base autopilot included based on order spec sheet, but actually only ever got TACC.

Should I be expecting these documents right around 24 hours prior to delivery? The wait is killing me! lol. Imagine if I had to wait like a lot of you guys from 2019 .

I’ve been trying to call my pick up dealership this morning. I’m stuck in an infinite loop of ringing after I selected my options, and then after a few minutes of ringing the phone disconnects.

Haven’t received a response via text from the app either.

Frustrating when I can’t speak to a real person.
