Do you have a final summary of what they did you could share? What service center?
I have successfully waterproofed my vault! (as proven by last night's rainstorm.)
I added self-adhesive rubber strips to over-lap the tonneau (except for tailgate), and silicone-caulked the top seam.

I had to go out of state to get where there was enough rain to show a leak in the vault. I had a standing service appointment for tire rotation and light bar install. I added the leak plus the pics showing the leak and they addressed it. From service notes: r"etrofitted sail applique set, adjusted tonneau cover rails, and added foam under the tonneau upper applique for a better seal. " Another listing said "presence of exposed water management channel. Issue was due to original design of tonneau cover. Technician installed an additional tonneau slat to address this issue".

If it ever rains again, maybe the leak is mitigated.

Take it to a service center. They'll fix it under warranty. That's what I did. Fixed the problem.
When you had this service done, how long did it take them? I have an appointment tomorrow, and supposed to leave on vacay 3 days later.

So far two storms and one very high pressure car wash and I see no water even in the corners. I suspect if there were water in the corners it would be the foam seal along the side of the applique not properly mounted as seen in the one Amazon seal replacement. I am not touching mine for now and will bring updates back to this thread.

Id like to see a photo of your tonneau and its seals if possible. I just did the 1/2 inch weather strip fix after the service center didn't fix the issue due to a damaged part/ slat (they ordered a replacement but im not in a rush to drive an hour each way to get it fixed just yet).

Will wash it tomorrow and see how it holds up (still need to address the applique leak down the back window).

The original and even the fixes are half baked for the aeroflap to stationary structure interface.

Google Form In Place gasket (FIP).

I'll be using aircraft manufacturing techniques we used to make gaskets for removeable panels.

Thin single side adheasive teflon tape applied to one side, wipe some mold realease on top of the teflon to make it really let go easy. Apply some super tuff aircraft fuel tank sealer, form the sqeeze out and remove the excess before it cures. let it cure, then disassemble and remove the T tape.

If you rarely remove the flap you can wipe mold release (like a liquid wax) on one side of the seal , seal the gaps with black silicone, assemble, wipe off excess and lust leave it installed. The release will allow it to come off without too much hastle if need be later.

The more elaborate installation method I stated first will go off and on as easy as OEM.

The aeroflap to slat area, that does need a better weather strip like people are doing.

I have not pulled off the applique yet, but no water from storms and only had some water once from a high pressure car wash. I have gone through the car wash 4x since Tesla fixed my leak. Do you want pictures of it from the top and bottom with the applique in place or are you waiting for me to pull it. I will probably pull it off in the next couple of weeks.

Has anyone tried just putting some silicon in the crack between the glass roof and the metal tonneau appliqué?

I recently took my Cyberbeast in for service, and one of the things I asked them to fix was the leaky tonneau cover. I had performed the seal between applique and sunroof, but it still was leaking. I was apparently missing a slat, so they replaced it, but it's still leaking just as much as before. So that extra slat was not the issue either.

So I removed the applique to discover that Tesla service personnel had mangled my applique screw/clamps and didn't say anything about it. The original clamps that came with the truck were larger, and required them to be rotated vertically. The ones that some with the tent are smaller, and require a horizontal placement. I know they were perfect because I removed my tent prior to bringing it in for service and they were perfect. I've requested they send me two new ones.

But that got me thinking - these can be rotated down to various levels, and will cause the applique to make a better seal against the tonneau. Tighten them too much, and the tonneau will actually hit the underside of the applique, but just enough and you get a tight seal. I think I have it in the sweet spot, so will test it at the car wash later today...

Update: The weather sealing over the top missing slat technique did NOT work. It gets as soaked as ever which is very confusing. I'm going to setup a camera in the vault next time I take it through a wash. The applique is another point that needs addressing as well.

Not on the slat. The tiny gap where the glass meets the aero cover. That’s where it gets in, the slat is different

I tested the missing slat area before hand and water pours in. I may have to reapply the weather seal there, on top of addressing the applique seal (which I noted for service department to do). At this point I have another service visit to address this next week so I will hold out in hopes they fix it with all the notes and diagrams I gave them 😂
