Actually Smart Summon (often called "Smart Summon" or "ASS" by owners) — the feature that lets your Cybertruck autonomously navigate parking lots to come to you (or go to a spot) via the Tesla app — is not yet released for the Cybertruck as of late January 2026.Key Timeline and Status
  • Tesla rolled out Actually Smart Summon to other models (Model 3/Y/S/X) in September 2024 (starting with update 2024.27.x, tied to FSD v12.5.x).
  • For Cybertruck, it was repeatedly teased and expected earlier:
    • Promises/rumors in late 2024 and early 2025.
    • Reports in March 2025 (e.g., from Not a Tesla App exclusives and Tesla execs like Ashok Elluswamy) indicated it was "coming soon" in an upcoming FSD update, alongside features like Start FSD from Park, reverse in FSD, and improved controls.
    • Whole Mars Catalog and others posted in March 2025: "Reverse and smart summon coming for cybertruck soon
      Tesla Cybertruck Latest from GROK on Summons, its coming! {filename}
      " and direct questions to Tesla AI leads.
    • It appeared in "upcoming features" lists on Cybertrucks as far back as FSD arrival in September 2024.
  • Despite that, recent owner reports (from forums like Cybertruck Owners Club, Reddit, and X posts in January 2026) show it's still missing:
    • Many Cybertruck owners complain it's one of the lingering gaps (along with full reverse/parking in FSD scenarios).
    • As of December 2025 notes and January 2026 posts, it's available on most other models but "not yet on the Cybertruck (expected soon, possibly delayed due to the truck’s size and steer-by-wire system)."
    • No confirmed wide release in 2025.45.x or recent FSD v14.2.x builds for CT.
Why the Delay?Tesla has cited the need for extra AI training/validation specific to the Cybertruck's:
  • Unique size/weight.
  • Steer-by-wire system.
  • All-wheel steering nuances.
  • Different sensor/camera placement and vehicle dynamics (e.g., handling in tight parking lots with pedestrians/obstacles).
This mirrors why FSD itself arrived later on Cybertruck (about 10 months after other models) and why some features lag.Current Expectations
  • It's considered "imminent" or "soon" in ongoing discussions, likely bundled with a future FSD Supervised update (possibly v14.x refinements or the next major point release).
  • Tesla often adds these in waves once validated on easier hardware first.
  • Check your vehicle's touchscreen under Controls > Autopilot or Software for any "Upcoming Features" mentions, or the Tesla app Summon tab—if it's grayed out or absent, it's not there yet.
  • Owners are vocal about it (e.g., direct @ mentions to
    @aelluswamy
    ,
    @Elonmusk
    ,
    @Cybertruck
    on X), so pressure might speed it up.
If you're on the latest software and it's still not showing, it's safe to say not yet released, but watch for OTA updates in the coming weeks/months—Tesla iterates fast on FSD. Let me know your current software version for more specific checks!

If the following are actual reasons from Tesla …the don’t make any sense. The cyber truck easily locates empty parking spots and will park itself, and appears to do all the reasons given below now when I push self park.
.

It's Grok, so it's just reposting things that people like us here or X or on Reddit have said.

Cool. For Grok and Grok only. I have verified the following is complete fabrication and should be accepted as fully that:

From Greg Imindahouse, Chief of Tesla's newly stood up
Public Affairs Office,

"We at Tesla are excited to bring you the news that the Tesla Cybertruck AWD and Cyberbeast will be receiving Actual Smart Summon on February 25th, 2026, as part of the FSD v15 rollout. There will be a full rollout on day one to all vehicles connected via wifi and a slower rollout the following day for vehicles over cellular connections. FSD 15 also brings Actual Smart Summon, Smart Banish to Parking, Additional Trailer options like auto disconnect, FSD while towing, and Auto Trailer Align for Connection (ATAC). Other new features are door presentation on gesture, Side-Step with increase angle for rear steer to 10 degrees, and finally, Full Unsupervised FSD.

To celebrate the release of 15.1 Unsupervised FSD, Tesla has announced that all original Foundation Series Cybertruck purchasers will receive Free Supercharging for the life of their car and a token for one transfer of FSD to a new vehicle purchased under the same account to be active as long as the original account owner owns the vehicle."

What is funny is Grok will likely cite this.

I noticed the fabrication was updated to include Tesla's version of the Crabwalk. Probably had ZERO to do with your reminding me... them... about it.
