Tesla Cybertruck Frozen snow / ice blocked my headlights last night IMG_1384

Heavy blowing snow and slush froze over my headlight bar last night. It was very difficult for me to see while driving. Turning on the brights had no effect.

I turned on my hazards and followed the road's tire tracks *very slowly* to get home.

Anyone else experience this? What's the solution?

I was wondering when this issue was going to pop up in the winter time. There were discussions after the CT release that this may be an issue in the winter especially with snow build-up in the headlights areas. However I don't recall if there was a solution found for the concern.

Yeah, the entire front of CT was covered up with snow & slush. Didn't know until I got off the interstate when I realized I couldn't see the road.

Cybertruck's entire front-end was *packed* with frozen slush from the interstate. I couldn't remove it with my bare hands when I pulled over on a back road.

Next time I'll have to be better prepared....

I've seen this problem coming. Had the same issue with my jeep and the only answer was to get heated headlights. Recessed lights that don't make any heat just catch the snow like crazy. I don't know that there will be a real solution to this honestly. There isn't a coating you can use, someone would have to come up with a mod that has an air compressor to blow the snow off. or wiper fluid, but I bet as easy as the trim stains, that would cause an issue on the front bumper.

The best low cost solution would be to apply a hydrophobic coating to the headlight and LED light bar lenses.
it's not gonna be enough honestly. The reason the snow sticks there is that there isn't enough airflow. The coating won't make a big enough difference

It's the "ledge" that is in front of the headlights that just invites snow/slush to sit there in front of the lights. I think only good solution might be a lower mounted light bar, or frunk mounted one like the ones from UP.

Maybe these from sportline: Tesla Cybertruck CTX Front Bumper Morimoto Off-Road LED Pod Lighting K - T Sportline - Tesla Model S, 3, X & Y Accessories
no matter how you aim those, they are illegal on the road in most, if not all states.

It’s the time of the year for wet slushy snow in many locations. Based on the photo as well as my personal experience with windshield ice in similar conditions in a sedan last winter, it won’t matter much where the headlights are and how prominent or recessed they are.

Maybe we need our hot burning HID or Halogen light bulbs back?
