What was different about the two adapters? I had one that was really tight and difficult to connect to the CCS head (and remove too). It had issues with some CCS chargers. In fact, there could be multiple identical units at the same site and it would work with one and not the other.

They sent me a new one that clicks easily into a CCS head. I haven't had a chance to try it with various CCS charge stations yet though... but wondering if the tight fitment was the issue, perhaps preventing the pins from centering the way they wanted. The CCS adapter is a flow-through, so other than the physical connections, there shouldn't be any magic in getting the charger to communicate with the truck.
I don't know except that certain Chargepoint chargers just wouldn't charge. My original was difficult to connect and I had to push it hard. I still have it as they didn't want it back. But I don't know if that was the issue. They said the manufacturer of some Chargepoint chargers was an issue for them... they had told me the name... started with an "R"... but thats all I remember.

Shameless plug (heh, pun) for the Supercharger site voting

If you have no dog in the fight, Show Low AZ, Globe AZ, Pinetop-Lakeside AZ, Springerville AZ, and Thatcher AZ would greatly appreciate your votes. It truly is a charging desert on the AZ/NM border and it's some of the most beautiful places you will ever see.

Throw in Northern New Mexico too.. it's a total SC desert. We can use some in Cuba, Abiquiu, and Chama, New Mexico.

Luckily we just got one in Cortez, CO, and are supposed to be getting them in Durango and Pagosa Springs which makes southern Colorado filled in.

I love Northern NM. A year ago I was super excited because Kit Carson Elec Coop started installing DCFC around, like 9-10 different areas. It was Tritium hardware with Enel X software. Ojo Caliente has 2 in their parking lot! A year later and $$$ of fed grant money, Tritium hardware manufacturer in insolvent and Enel X abandoned North America completely. Some other company (Red?) stepped in to take over the software operation, but none of the chargers are native NACS, all CCS only. But if the hardware breaks, are there available parts going forward? There's some scattered level 2 J1772's around, like at a closed community college campus, that hardly work.

Such a huge swing and miss for Northern NM. Abandoned hardware, abondoned chargers, abandoned SW......................

REMA is probably the name of the company making the CCS plug you're recalling. I've heard that name mentioned before.

I gather the new one is an easier fit, as is mine. If the REMA connector is no longer an issue, that would suggest that the fit is the issue... because it's just a pass through.

And that *might* explain why identical chargers, side by side, didn't mean both would activate. I need to get out and do some testing!

I recently had to make an emergency run from Fredericksburg, TX to Ruidoso. I wanted to take my regular ICE route, which goes through Big Spring, to Brownfield, and then onto Roswell, but I was concerned about not having a charger between Big Spring and Roswell. So, I took the I-10 route to Pecos, through Carlsbad, to Roswell. There are several 3rd party chargers along this route, and a couple Francis Energy chargers if you feel like making any extra stops. I've had really good luck with FE, and always charge fast, like 130-148 kw/hr. There's an FE charger in Ruidoso behind the Hotel Ruidoso as well.

I've used the Nicxz NACS adaptor without any issues.

Thanks for reporting back on the Roswell Supercharger. I wanted to swing by and check on it, but I was in too big a hurry.
