Hi all,
You may have seen my post previously about issues with my CT. The weather stripping on the CTs is some of worst I’ve ever come across. It’s insane to me for the price we paid, they didn’t do any QA or testing on this. Mine hasn’t worked from day one. I was hoping we would get a recall for it, but I’ve got nothing sent to me by Tesla

I was on Facebook and saw another post here. This is exactly what I encounteredWhy doesn’t Tesla recall this? So disrespectful to their customers ?

Mine is actually pretty good and doesn't seem to leak like others on the forum have had trouble with, however if it ever does then what the facebook person and what others have done is shown in this video:

Mine doesn't leak. Have it replaced under warranty instead of installing your own weather stripping.

Thanks for the video. The information on how to remove and replace the panel between the glass and the tonneau was very helpful. Very nice job on the weather seal install. If the Tesla seal is really just that foam gasket, it's pretty pitiful. Looks like something the assembly line grabbed when they ran out of a real gasket. I'm considering a new rear-view mirror/screen, and have been thinking that the ideal place for a camera mount would be on that 'aero' panel. Much more to think about now.

There seems to be a known fix now. Mine is in SC now and I mentioned the tonneau cover leaking and he just matter of fact said “yea I’ll fix that - it won’t be completely waterproof, but it will be a lot better”.

I was thinking that the tonneau was not supposed to be water proof until I read this. Mine leaks like a sieve, and I’ve only had it a month.

if Tesla was more responsive and responsible in addressing these issues- I get it. New vehicle, new issues.

But at my SC location they act like this issues are to be expected. Idk how to explain it but it’s like- you’re on you’re own…

Just want Tesla to take care of folks who support em. That’s it.
