Hey there,

what is the best Ceramic Coating that one can do to the Cyber? I had my TM3 done few years ago 2018 and it held up Okayishhh not wow! a garaged car should have lasted longer in CA...

What's your take, and alternatively, maybe Matt transparent Wrap? or whats it called PPF?

Thank you

none is the best.
normally you add a ceramic as a hard shell to protect the softer clear coat. in this case the ceramic is the weaker layer so completely unnecessary.

8 Year Ceramic Coating by Pan the Organizer. Very DIY friendly. I have used it on my Cybertruck. You can coat everything with it IE: stainless steel, vinyl, ppf, glass, bumpers, fender flares, rims

I was guessing that DIY was the same since it's sold on the same website, and these youtubers are obviously private labeling this stuff, no?

The advantage to this being it blocks finger prints more? Anyone have experience with this + magnesium chloride? Does it prevent the spotting the stainless gets otherwise? If not for these 2 things, whats the point?

Any improvement on fingerprints after the ceramic, and are you still able to use spray away and other cleaners for fingerprint touch up?

I put the same coating on mine. It's surprisingly good at resisting most finger prints.
That is good to hear, I was looking at protectaclear but the difficulty of install and some issues 6mo after or so were a bit concerning.
With the pan 8 year are you able to use things like spray away glass cleaner on the stainless still?

Here ya go:

I did the 8 year ceramic + 3 year graphene (call "the stack") for all my glass. It has been absolutely amazing. Stays super clean all the time. I have the metal ceramic coatings ready to go, but I'm going to wait until springtime to do it for better weather. It takes a LOT of prep work to do it right when applying coatings like this. Their channel has hundreds of hours of knowledge on the subject. Highly recommend all of their products.

I used the DIY one that is supposedly specific to stainless (I've never had a vehicle ceramic coated, so I decided to do my own experiment to see how effective it really is on the stainless). I only fully prepped and applied it to all the front, and also all the left side stainless panels (used DIY's rust remover and panel prep solutions to thoroughly clean before applying it). I purposefully did not do the right side or the tailgate. So far, I would say it helps marginally for fingerprints. Bugs do come off pretty easy from the front panels (and do not leave stains), but not 100% sure if it is due to the ceramic coating or not. I honestly (as of yet), see next to know difference between the two sides.

Once I learned the best way to avoid fingerprints is to just not touch the stainless :sneaky: (and I started educating new passengers on this), they really are no longer a problem on either side of the truck for me.

I typically just wash the truck with a foaming soap, rinse, and towel dry as needed. Any time I need to really clean a panel, Spray Away is great for doing it (but it will leave streaks for me if just doing a small spot). I found for spot cleaning (the occasional fingerprint by an untrained passenger or a curious on looker, or when loosening up the dried-up bugs up front), the Chemical Guys Total Interior Cleaner and Protectant is awesome. This stuff allows you to spray just the spot, wipe it dry with a microfiber, and it leaves no residue or streaks, so it's perfect for the spot cleaning.

When washing/rinsing, I literally see no difference in beading of water from panels treated vs. not treated. At this point, I've decided to leave it bare naked going forward, as it really cleans very easily. I can't recommend the Chemical Guys cleaner enough, I literally use it all over the truck now, including as intended, on the interior (a good friend with a Harley CVO recommended it to me, it's all he uses to clean his entire bike after a ride).

I'll keep on eye on the bug removal and any staining occurring up front from them. If eventually it worsens and becomes an issue, then I'll attribute what I see now, to the ceramic coating actually working. As of right now, I wouldn't do it again.

I think the best thing the metal ceramic coating will do is help prevent etching.

I drive through brush which leaves scratches on steel. I suppose ceramic won’t make this any better then?
