Completely agree - but heck if "money is no object" then maybe go for the Beast.
I'd rather enjoy the CT and use the 20k for lifetime of charges

would you rather have a Beast or AWD with lifetime charging? LOL
Option 3) Buy a beast and charge it at home for free using solar?

Some say the dual motor Rivian is more capable off-road due to the ability to lock the axles and keep both wheels spinning. The other math is 835hp is great, but it's split across 4 motors so each one can only produce a peak of ~200hp. If only one wheel has traction, that's all the power you have available.

On the dual motor, particularly performance, you have 665hp split front/rear so if an axle is locked you can push 300+hp to a single wheel, that's 50% more power to get unstuck if only one wheel has traction.
When it comes to traction, having the most HP to a single wheel doesn't matter. It's torque, and how it's applied. You could have 1000 HP to a single wheel, but it won't help your traction situation if it's spinning.

I mean, whatever makes you justify having the slow version of the Cybertruck.. whatever makes you happy. For me, 245hp is a ton of power that you immediately feel even with part throttle, and use every single time you drive the truck. $20k isn't much to add that much power, I've spent $30k just to supercharge my Lambo and get 150 extra HP which made it so much better. Not to mention the $4k Powershare credit and lightbar ($1k value?) that's only $15k to have a fast truck, not one that's slower than a Raptor R or TRX.

If you need to count dollars and cents I agree, the AWD is the bargain, but I don't think the Beast was made for cost-sensitive clientele.
The majority of people choosing the AWD over the Beast was simply to receive the vehicle sooner. But why not wait a few more months for the vehicle you wanted? I read a post on here where a guy switched to the AWD so he could be the first in his town to own it. But happens in 6 months when there are multiple AWD driving around?

Ha! good -
I have solar / powerwall + CT at home so I keep the 20k I guess.
last month my bill was $2... and I'm not even a granola crunching sandal wearing tree hugger.

That was my thought as well, I almost switched to AWD to get it sooner but talked myself out of that. No way I am letting a Raptor or TRX out accelerate my truck, that's literally one of the biggest selling points of an EV let alone the Cybertruck, that its so fast.

Agreed. Who the hell would want to supercharge this just to save some money. Charging at home is cheap and doesn't use up your time. Unless you are constantly on the road. Most people charge at home even if you have free supercharging miles. Feel sorry for those people who have to supercharge several times a week because no charger at home.

Also, someone posted this badge for the AWD before. I think it was you. :ROFLMAO: Genius.

Lol thats funny, I have heard the AWD called a "Cyberturtle" before. Maybe that's where it came from.
It's genius. Even my wife thinks its hilarious. When I was contemplating switching to AWD last week, her response was: "You want the Cyberturtle now over the Cyberbeast?".

I used to drive a Yamaha R6 and thought that’s all I needed. Until you ride next to an R1 and they disappear in a matter of seconds. Thats why I ordered a Beast

Exact experience, except Ducati Monster versus R1. My buddy drives R1. He is invincible, although R1 could be a death sentence. CT saves the day for me.

Once you step on a vehicle that does 0-60 under 3 secs, you won’t go back to anything else. <3 secs vs 4.1 secs might appear very marginal, but the experience is exponentially different!

Lol, why is that? You like being slower than an ICE truck? I don't understand that comment and what would make you want the slower version unless you're scared of the extra performance
Lol not scared of "extra performance"

There is more to performance than 0-60... The AWD truck gives me more than enough speed, I took it up to 110mph the other day and when I had to switch lanes I felt the truck was gonna flip over due to its weight and size.. Also, awd is quicker than 99% of trucks out there. I'll gladly take more range and reliability over a quicker 0-60 lol

I have quite a few supercars as well, which is why the AWD version would be too slow for me... But I'm curious, you really thought that the truck could "flip over" changing lanes at 110mph? That's actually insane to me, how could it have felt like it would flip over just changing lanes.

Also, care to explain how the AWD is more reliable than a Beast? That's new to me...

lol! Good choice. Clearly you deserve to earn a CT for having wise wife, but hope you made a sad puppy face with genius smile inside to prove you are equally wise as well for cutting this bargain! ??
