I bought the cybertruck becaude I have a Model Y and I love the autopilot on the model Y, now after buying the cybertruck, which says in de purchase contract that has autopilot included, I do not have autopilot. May I hope that in the near future Tesla will give us the autopilot we pay for?

Autopilot isnt coming to the Cybertruck. You get a year of FSD instead.

You are not the only one who feels this way. Technically there is AutoPilot (there is/was a mode which is labeled AutoPilot), but the capabilities are not the same as what was in ModelY… yet

I also loved my ModelY over CyberTruck when it comes to AutoPilot, but for now they give many ā€œearly adopters of the CyberTruckā€ a free one-year trial of FSD supervised.. it is not perfect either m, but for the Highway cruising I use it for it is ā€˜okay’

there are a couple-few threads here where you get the latest gossip and rants about it..

…welcome to the club

It's not gossip that the Autosteer portion if AP isn't coming to the CT. Tesla announced this and sent this to owners.

Can you show us in your purchase contract where it says this about autopilot?

Purchase agreements and Monroney stickers both say "Base Autopilot" as an included feature. Problem is that TACC and Autosteer fall under "Autopilot" umbrella. So technically CTs come with Autopilot, but Miguel is complaining about not having Autosteer. Not that I blame him; I just want Autosteer as well.

I imagine Tesla will extend the year of FSD to him also, since they need the real-world miles anyway. He probably just needs to be patient.

I’m also annoyed by this. I tend to like base autopilot more. It’s worked great for 6 years on both of my model 3’s.

there seems to be some reading between the lines as Tesla has matured through the years, but for many many years, the definition of ā€œbase autopilotā€ was when you use TACC in conjunction with autosteer. Cruise control is still exactly that, even if it’s traffic aware. And still listed under the autopilot tab as it’s a drivers assistance feature and uses cameras. Autopilot has always involved some sort of autosteer. Appears not anymore. Absolutely annoyed as I have been looking forward to getting base autopilot from the beginning, 13 months ago at delivery. Not to mention dumb summon. I use it constantly on our 3 and x to move cars in the driveway. I don’t care about ass or original smart summon. It was both implied and listed on the service agreement that we would have these basic long time features when we purchased a foundation that came with FSD.

still love the vehicles and nothing else compares, but do feel slightly swindled as this information has been released by Tesla in the recent months.

and I don’t care about the make good offering of fsd for a year to the people that don’t have it. That doesn’t nothing for me as I already have it for life. Both versions of autonomy are listed on both the agreement and latter mvpa.

sontimes I just like to cruise on the highway without any lane changes whatsoever. This was easier in the past in fsd when there was an option to ā€œlimit lane changesā€, but even that’s gone now. Hope it comes back.

To add even more, they have changed the options listed on our specs without informing us. Traffic aware cruise control was never listed under the specs portion of the app. It used to say ā€œautopilotā€, and a separate line item with fsd. I have a screen shot of the old items, along with a current shot of my model 3’s listed specs. I don’t appreciate them changing/removing options listed that were part of purchase, and not offering anything in return to those of us with FSD.

also throwing in a screenshot of the verbiage used on the screen recoding I took while ordering last march, 2024. It lists both summon and smart summon.

I’m not one of those people that think we are owed lifetime supercharging because we ordered early. I don’t think I’m owed anything that wasn’t originally in the purchase agreement. I was extremely happy with what was offered at the time I ordered, and don’t like it’s unreasonable to ask for those items listed, without them being changed in the background without consent. Really makes me feel like we don’t own our actual vehicles.

@MIGUEL GONZALEZ DEL REY

ok cool. here is the section relevant to the topic of autopilot on the Cybertruck:

Agreement to Purchase. You agree to purchase the vehicle (the ā€œVehicleā€) described in your Vehicle Configuration from Tesla, Inc. or its affiliate (ā€œwe,ā€ ā€œusā€ or ā€œourā€), pursuant to the terms and conditions of this Agreement. Your Vehicle is priced and configured based on features and options available at the time of order and you can confirm availability with a Tesla representative. Options, features or hardware released or changed after you place your order may not be included in or available for your Vehicle. If you are purchasing a used Vehicle, it may exhibit signs of normal wear and tear in line with its respective age and mileage.
Tesla hasn't reached feature parity with most other models yet because they don't have enough training data to satisfy a minimum safety score (and likely hundreds of other boxes to check with regulatory agencies). Also, there is a chance autopilot with the autosteer feature may technically never arrive, since the vast majority of resources in that area are being placed in FSD. The teams want to eventually remove the disparity branch of software between AP and FSD anyway, so long term autopilot will probably be phased out in favor of those features just being packaged with FSD.

Tesla has been quiet on this for a variety of valid reasons.
