Apple CarPlay coming to Tesla as soon as end of year!

I would love this for few reasons:

1) current Bluetooth connection plays my audio in crap 64kbs stream, carplay could give me full audio quality.
2) apple nave lane guidance is better
3) siris ability to report cops, hazards via voice
4) WAZE
5) siris ability to text and deal with my calendar is way better
6) App Store options
7) App integrations for radar detectors and other hardware doodads

Most of the people who are in the "I wont buy a car w/o Carplay, including a Tesla" haven't driven a car with a decent native system. You just don't know until you've experienced what good is.

As I mentioned, we have had two Teslas, one of which is in the yard right now. I outlined the reasons for why I’d want CarPlay.

If Tesla made a proper media player that connected to a phone (preferably with better audio quality than old BT), I would be much less wanting of CarPlay. Also if they had automatic ETA sending in their map.

Oh and would need to check their podcast thing. That’s another one I frequently use with CarPlay but I can’t remember if Tesla had something good for that.

It doesn’t automatically connect wirelessly now? In the bolt it wouldn’t do it unless you manually connected to a usb.

You can turn that off in options on both the vehicle and phone.

Funniest thing I’ve read all day. But made the mistake of reading it to my wife. This is why I use none of the onscreen media apps - and she doesn’t touch my iPhone, which is too far away to reach. Stream everything via Bluetooth.
