Anyone heard anything about when they might be selling the extenders ?
It is going to be very curious how fast they charge at v3 (& future v4) superchargers. Many think these won't see the light of day, few months later no word. Likely Tesla will just release a CT with a larger battery pack.
V3 they are currently slow and with hardware won't improve. It is going to be very curious how fast they charge at v3 (& future v4) superchargers.
As well if they can cool (eg AZ summer) & heat (eg MN winter) them well.
This. The Range Extender was just a ploy to get people to buy the early CTs with the battery pack half empty. Many think these won't see the light of day, few months later no word. Likely Tesla will just release a CT with a larger battery pack.
I was really referencing the configuration with a separate box/pack. ie. how will it be connected both electrically and with coolant lines. Or will the coolant be self-contained which would seem odd. All seems like it would be a hodgepodge.V3 they are currently slow and with hardware won't improve.
V4 does not exist, and will be a decade before there are 1,000 of them across the country providing impactful charging.
Wonder if existing battery packs can be modified with additional cells by Tesla if this is the case that there is free room. I’d pay for that but not the bed battery pack extender.This. The Range Extender was just a ploy to get people to buy the early CTs with the battery pack half empty.
"A short video on the Munro Live channel showed what's inside the pack. One of the most obvious things we see is a lot of empty space, possibly for a second layer of cells. If this is indeed true, it could indicate that the battery pack capacity could be much higher, which is why Tesla promised over 500 miles of range for the Cyberbeast."
