1. His specific complaint was that while he was 6'2", he couldn't reach over the side of the truck near the front.
2. My buddy removed the mirror in his Ram and put in a digital display and then a camera facing back from outside somewhere. It wouldn't be that difficult and Tesla could just use the video from the rear camera that is already in place. They could probably offer a mirror shaped monitor for that video feed and Homelink for $300 and would have a near 100% take rate.
I didn't/wouldn't watch the video so I didn't know that the complaint was the size of the side of the truck. That is a reasonable complaint but is really only a subcase of the trailering use case.

I would not want Tesla to hook up the current backup camera to a digital display because: (1) it is too wide angle to be a good rear view, and (2) the camera gets dirty/blocked too easily. My idea is to get a 3-channel system with independent side and rear view cameras and mount them either at the apex on the back of the light bar (which I do not have for how long I do not know), or on a rack bar. That way they won't get as dirty and I can probably find cameras with a different field of view angle. I am hoping to tap into the 48v power feed at the apex and run the camera wires through the ceiling cover. This way, Tesla keeps all their cameras doing what they do and I get the views I want.

Great video that was helpful and honest. I agreed with most of it. Focus was on towing. I tow a boat and he is correct when he says you cannot see to back up. I've bought a backup WIFI camera that solves this problem.

I like that idea. Keep track of parts/processes. You could help a bunch of people.
If there is a mirror replacement monitor that accepts 3 feeds, you could route them there.

I watched it on Youtube to ensure he gets the watch count or however that works. However, I DID fast forward through some of it. I mean, once you tell me you are upset you don't have FSD yet, I don't need a 3 minute discord on it.
[/ To be honest who cares

Remove your rear view mirror, enjoy the unobstructed view. You get used to the on screen rear view in about 2 days and won't miss it. I was in the same camp as you originally, upset the rear view wasn't a screen and now I don't miss it.
I was on the same boat and have to admit I don't miss the rearview mirror either. I haven't taken long drives at night or in the rain which was one of the complaints of another YouTuber. I'm only keeping the rearview mirror in place for now so I can keep and eye on the kids in the rear seat; they fight so much.

There are both 3 and 4 channel monitors. I wish one of them integrated the video feeds but having them side by side is ok.

Really appreciate the objective, candid, honest, and humble style of your reviews @ButterEV. You have been a great source of information over these past few months as many of us continue to wait for our non-FS CBs. Good on you!

If I opt to keep the mini-mirror, it will be to watch my "furry kids" (aka Dobes). Leaning against even that since I rarely travel with them solo.

After 6 months and 9,000 miles I provide my honest opinions on the Cybertruck. I go over its towing performance, lack of FSD, steer by wire and more. I truly appreciate those who support me and my videos ??
I've owned multiple Porsches, 3 Ferraris, 2 Lambos, vipers, i8, vettes, the real supercharged Ford lightning, endless f150s, rams, GMC, Chevy's, 2 Escalades including a '24 and this is by far the coolest vehicle I've ever owned or been in.

The fact people complain the car can't drive itself and aren't kidding is the most whiney outlandish complaint... My Aventador didn't drive itself, I never even thought to complain about that. No other cars drive themselves. You knew you were getting a foundation series, beta testing first off the production line revolutionary vehicle and you expected no bugs, glitches, issues, delays in features? Anyone complaining about these minor things are actually the problem, not the truck. They also aren't truck people or CDL drivers so they complain about things that don't make any sense like the rearview mirror? You don't need a review mirror, you can't use a review mirror whenever you use your truck as a truck anyway cause there's stuff in the bed or a trailer behind you. You don't have a back window at all in many commercial vehicles.

You can barely see outside most of my Ferraris, Lambos, or vipers never mind a rear view mirror. This truck has incredible visibility in every direction even compared to my Escalades. My 140lb dog obstructs my rear view either way.

Most Cybertruck reviews show the ignorance and lack of skill of the reviewer, not the faults of the truck including totally unreasonable expectations for a first production beta test version of the truck you should have known you were getting. Ever buy a first year Ferrari or Lamborghini? I have, they always have issues, sometimes huge issues... And that's a hand made car only slightly different than every car they've made for 40 years.

My review as an actual truck/car enthusiast? The Cyberbeast is the coolest vehicle on the road today. Every other truck, car, and even supercar should look at things these engineers have done and realize that's the new bar. Driving a normal car after driving a cybertruck is so boring.

I thoght it was a good review.
I wish he would have mentioned his range when towing his trailer.
I saw another reviewer towing a large RV that had to stop and charge aftern 88 miles

I use the rear view mirror spot as my phone mount now ?
Works weirdly well! If you don't have the expectation of a rear mirror being there, then the phone mounted there just makes a lot of sense.
