I just got a text from Tesla saying provide proof of insurance. I checked the app and it still only shows the reservation number on the main Cybertruck page but tapping vehicle details does show a VIN. Delivery eta still says nothing but it says vehicle in transit to your delivery location.

Hopefully good news incoming for everyone else as well!

I didn’t even pay attention to the last digits of the VIN at first. Mine is 09050X

Nice, mine is about 50 cars after yours VIN wise, so hopefully mine will be in transit soon as well!

907** vin is here. Just got the update. I ordered December 24, 2025. AWD with white interior thing. The website I use - gives a bit more information. Not sure how safe it is, but I don't care. Signed up with Tesla credentials.

Interesting, you ordered one day after me but I've got no VIN (AWD). What region are you? I'm Colorado. I wonder if they build in order to fill trains for specific delivery regions.

I’m in North Carolina. I do expect they plan for certain directions of delivery, but that’s just a guess.

Just got VIN. Colorado AWD/Under Armor/Core/Dark Grey. 13JAN order.

Is it usually a couple weeks for delivery after VIN assignment?
From Texas to NC it offered me a Tuesday delivery after the notification it was in transit on Friday. So no I would say it can definitely be quicker than a couple weeks. Pending available delivery appointments at your delivery center.

So, update to my previous (way back on page 1) post:

- Ordered 11/26 (AWD, Gray, Cyberwheels,+ Armor).
- At the time, order estimate was 6-8 weeks. So Mid/Late Jan?
- January 3rd app flipped to 'In Production' and I got a VIN (898xx)
- January 9th -I was told truck would arrive at SC on 1/26, delivery scheduled for 1/27
- Sometime shortly after the 9th, it went from "In Production" to "In transit to delivery location"
- 1/23... I get a call from the local service center. With the storm about to dump on us, they were calling people to push out deliveries. (I was supposed to pick up on Tuesday)... Only when they checked, turns out my truck isn't expected to arrive until.... at least 2/5, so now it's...
- 2/9: Delivery... hopefully.

So... 10.5 weeks from order.. if it holds... this time.

I wonder if the delay has anything to do with the new 4680 cells

Congratulations to everyone ordering a new one. It's been one year with mine and it's been great.

If it does they haven’t announced or leaked anything about them. I tried to research as much as I could about it yesterday with grok and X. It seems, with the information we have available now, the dry electrode 4680 is only being put in some model Ys and not the Cybertruck. They did unveil the first prototype Cybertruck with both electrodes using the dry process in mid 2024, and the Q4 2025 update says they are making 4680s with both dry electrodes in Texas now. This does not specify if that’s the ONLY version of 4680 they’re making now, which I was kindof hoping for.

Even if they were putting it in the truck, it’s unlikely that it includes any performance benefit because all the information I could find points to these batteries only being a manufacturing speed and cost benefit to Tesla. That manufacturing benefit does better position them to improve performance later on, but as of now the only change has been getting the manufacturing part stable.

Supposedly they’re going to introduce a variant of the 4680 with improved range for towing later this year, but this is rumor only.

Overall, all this information is very hush hush and not easy to find so I could be completely wrong.

I’m going to try to find out the manufacture date of mine at delivery. My guess is our best chance of answering this question is if all of us ask the staff at the delivery if there’s any information they have about it. If not, note the manufacture date and if there’s any future announcement about when they started using them we would know retroactively.
