Beast = front wheel drive primary
AWD = rear wheel drive primary.
Some times pull a camping trailer.

I could only afford a AWD in 24 so that's what I drive. LOVE IT! 😍😁

About 6 months ago I did have a loaner Beast for a couple weeks. I seriously had fun but that was all on Tesla's dime. I drive my AWD in CHILL mode 99% of the time.

I feel bummed that we didn't get free charging-for life retroactively. I might have waited to buy had I known.

Thanks a lot for the info. Btw I have a low profile 3 ton jack for my plaid. Will I have to get a diff jack to change tires on the CB?
3ton jack will work just fine. Unless you plan on some how lifting the entire truck at one with it.

Huge Congrats!!
I cannot state more emphatically that as a man who absolutely loves “cars”… THIS IS PERSONALLY THE BEST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED. Comfort, Space, the Normal power outlets when I want to “work from car”!. FSD (get it - it’s awesome) and worry free “bullet proof” for Shopping Cart incursions…

My first CT was May 10 2024 (foundation) and what a thrilling day for me and my family. This was before the “drama” of politics, which I feel has generally died down. I still don’t take it into NYC because of the crazies

In terms of repair you won’t have these issues:
-Accelerator pedal recall
-External panels recall
-Some had panel gap concerns
-Some earlier (not me) weird “blackout” issue close to delivery
-seriously ZERO issues with the truck hardware other wise for me

not sure how others feel about sentry mode phantom drain on batteries.

The things you MIGHT deal with even today may be:
-Garage space
-Wrap decisions
-Tonneau misalignment
-Cleaning (if you wrap)
-I suggest you opt for the FSD
-PowerShare setup
-Reaching things in the far end of the bed lol
-Charging in your garage (your old wall charger cable may not be long enough)
-*The love and hate from others (thumbs up and admirers - I STILL catch people taking pictures of my truck) and (bird flippers and 50’s women parking lot mumblers as they walk by with their evil eye)
Range may be a little less but man, enjoy the trunk space and please take it places your S never went..

Some other things I LOVE
-Height adjustment
-in vehicle GROK
-Ride
-Ride in heavy rain
- STEERING OH THE STEERING
- Frunk is a nice bench
- The sound system

TRULY best of luck sir

is this your first Pick Up truck?
Hey yeah it’s going to be my first truck, never thought I would get one. I’m a tech guy and after the S/X discontinuation, I wanted to get a cybertruck before it gets pulled too. By PowerShare do you mean charging another Tesla? What do you recommend for that? The CB is coming with Luxe so I’ll get to finally try out the new FSD version after being stuck on hw3 with my plaid. The supercharging will really come in handy and decrease the cost of this car by 1-2k each year of daily use so it made sense for me to get it over the AWD. Is the free supercharging really for life??

By PowerShare do you mean charging another Tesla?
Tesla uses the term "PowerShare" to mean "exporting power from the pack" generally.

You can use the included Mobile Connector to charge your own truck from AC, but also to charge other Teslas via the NEMA 14-50 in the bed (you can't self-charge that way, lol). And of course, you can use the outlets for virtually anything.

Separately, you can power your home with a Gateway 3V via the UWC, which is also called "PowerShare". I have this setup, and it has automatically switched from charging to providing house-power in a few seconds when the grid failed. A bit pricey though, so some have instead installed a socket with an interlock on their main panel, and then plug into the NEMA 14-50 like a generator when needed.

OP needs to learn how to smile and nod politely when the AWD crew says their trucks are just as good as his. You're entering a world that few can comprehend.
Going to get you riled up; AWD actually better than Beast in most regards. ;)

AWD is better:
1. Lighter.
2. Better off-road (2 locking diffs and lighter).
3. Better range.
4. Less tire wear.
5. Cheaper to purchase.
6. Cheaper to insure.
7. Likely more reliable.
8. RWD permanent magnet motor use for 99% of driving.
9. Quieter.

Beast is better:
1. 1.4 second quarter mile faster than AWD according to Motor trend.

When you pick up your cyber truck, be sure to do a thorough walk-around inspection and take pictures and/or video. When we picked up our "Foundation Series" CT in June 2024, we found that the windshield wiper motor cover was cracked and called it to Tesla's attention before we took possession. Tesla folks scheduled a service appointment, to replace the cover, before we left the lot.

The only mechanical issue we've experienced was with the CANT RAIL panel recall replacement. The CANT RAIL panel is the 4" wide exterior panel that runs over the top of the doors along the roof-line. Our local service center made two attempts to replace the panels with less than satisfactory results. The new CANT RAIL panels did not line up with the front and read body panels correctly. They either overlapped or were obviously misaligned. The Tesla service center scheduled an appointment with the Tesla Collision Center to perform the repair as it required extensive disassembly of other body panels to get it all to fit. It seems that the front and/or rear body panels needed to be shifted to allow space for the CANT RAIL panels to fit properly. We're only talking abut 2-3 mm. But that made all the difference.

The CT has been a blast to drive. My wife, the principal driver, love's the brute acceleration, the Fly-By-Wire-All-Wheel-Steering, and especially the FSD.

I use a low profile 3-ton floor jack that I bought a decade ago at Costco and it works great on my Cybertruck.

This is one of the few times I agree with you. Tesla makes higher margins on the Beast, but the AWD is the real deal, even if the Beast is quicker. I don't think that extra quickness matters for most people, here's why:

The AWD Cybertruck is already a high-horsepower truck. Considering my tires need to be up to all tasks the truck is good at, including payload capacity, exploring off the beaten path, long-distance cruising efficiency, etc. well, that's a lot to ask from any one set of tires. High performance tires generally don't have the load ratings to enable the full payload capacity. And tires that have the load capacity, and some tread suitable for exploring off the beaten path generally aren't good at putting massive horsepower/torque to the pavement.

In short, the awesome power of the Cyberbeast is best enjoyed through tires that take away from truck capabilities. With my Dual Motor, I already feel like I'm pushing the OEM AT Territory and "winter" OEM Duratrac RT to the limit when I floor it. Especially the DuraTrac's. And that's on clean dry pavement. Off-pavement I can't even use all the power I have without them spinning up (moderated by traction controls when enabled). They would get chewed up in short order if I didn't already modulate the throttle.

Unless you have really special needs, the Dual Motor has all the truck power needed. You will never feel it lacks power, short of racing. And while the Cybertruck is much better than legacy trucks at racing, it's still a truck, it doesn't egg me on to push the limit, as much as I still enjoy driving it briskly.

Said another way, I would appreciate more power in my Model 3 Performance from time to time, but I don't care to have more power in my Dual Motor Cybertruck. It all comes down to size and tires.

Great notes.

Lot of rationalization about why one selected the AWD- truth is guys pick it because it is cheaper. The Beast is the way to go. I enjoy taking the Beast to my Corvette club dinners and when my vette friends say disparaging stuff about my cybertruck - I enjoy pointing out to them that it is faster 0-60 than any corvette in the club today and offer to race their corvette. No takers yet.

Plus you get that little three headed monster etched on the tailgate.

Also the FSD is amazing - and it is a lifetime license on my cyberbeast- worth every penny.

Hey everyone, I just placed an order for a 2026 Cyberbeast and I’m coming from a Model S Plaid. I wanted to tap into the community and ask what I should expect as a new owner, especially in terms of common issues or things worth addressing early.

On my Plaid, I installed adjustable rear camber arms and was able to correct the early inner tire wear issue, which helped a lot. I think I’ve seen some mentions of front tire wear on the Cyberbeast — is that actually a known issue? If so, do adjustable camber arms up front help in a similar way?

Any advice on things to watch for, get ahead of, or plan for early on would be appreciated.
I can't agree more with Cyber Jay, I've had my Beast for a little over A month now, 845hp is good I am a little disappointed not the same as the plaid thou. I truly cant see ever returning to ICE

That may well be. But the truth of the matter is also that not everyone has $115,000.00 to drop on a vehicle. I paid $88,000 for my AWD with lifetime FSD and it’s still $27,000 less. If I had the extra money would I get a Beast? Of course. But it’s not like an AWD CT is a slacker either. I guess ya’ll Beast guys can “poor shame” me now if you want. 🤪
