For those that have used their Cybertruck for “truck stuff” without a third party bedliner, how does the claim “no bedliner needed” work out? Are they onto something and it’s pretty impressive, or is it scratched all up and pretty disappointing?

Mine has been great (May 2024 FS AWD).

I throw all sorts of metal tools, crates, debris, etc in the bed (and drag all sorts of things in/out) and it still looks fine.

Pretty good for me and it gets used multiple times a week. I use it for everything like hauling things to the trash site, loading up the kids atvs and motorcycle, pallets and more.
I also keep a full size spare and off-road jack in the back

Fine here as well (May 2024) and the only time I put any kind of protection in it is when I hauled some snowblowers around so the scraper blade wasn’t digging in to the bed. Have pressure washed the bed twice just for giggles.

Yeah, it would take some horrific abuse for it to not last 300,000 miles before it was toast and needed to be replaced or recovered. It's built to last, short of major abuse. It's stiff and doesn't dent and deform as easily as steel truck beds. I don't have a lot of experience with aluminum truck beds but I understand they are not much, if any, better than the regular steel ones. They all are on a path of ballooning out, from years of acquiring dents on the stamped metal.

What I like most about the Cybertruck's bed is it has the perfect coefficient of friction with most materials. It grips the right amount without making it too difficult to slide things of normal weight in/out. And it provides good traction when parked on steep slopes, even in the wet. After almost two years, I gotta say, Tesla hit it out of the park with the bed. No liner needed either.

White and chalky visually

Don't do "truck stuff" that involves loose debris, dirt, rocks, hay, etc
It falls down between the cracks, gets stuck in the diaper and around the battery/compressor

Use a bed mat, use bins or tarps if transporting loose stuff.

i am enjoying the composite bed. Although not indestructible, it has held up superiorly well compared to past trucks I have owned. I have no issue using my truck bed as intended. Scrap metal, trash, lumber, old construction material, round bale of hay, oh and I even have slept in the bed! Have not hauled gravel yet, I do have a dumpster in a bag to line the bed with due to small rocks getting wedged in crevices.

Mine has held up very well. I use it for firewood, carrying tools, gravel, ATV, etc... and I have a few scrapes, but nothing major. About the same as above. They would definitely be worse in an unlined truck bed and probably about the same in a lined bed. My only complaint is the sides have too much deflection when you're filling with gravel or firewood. Not that it is an actual problem (I frankly don't know), but it isn't comfortable tossing firewood in and seeing it bounce off the sides or having gravel push it in an inch or so.

Are those Tesla branded tie downs in the side tracks or third party?

My order was placed today due to the discontinuing of outright FSD. Time to start figuring out all the loose ends such as accessories.

I haven't used this yet because I haven't carried loose stuff in the bed Y-E-T but Spring is coming and I'm sure my wife is going to tell me to go get some mulch or dirt for the garden. This is what I'm planning on using to make the whole job easy.

I also figure I can latch onto the straps and maybe drive the truck out from under the Dumpster Bag and have it at ground level on the driveway. Time will tell.

Bag dimensions: • 8 ft long • 4 ft wide • 2.5 ft tall

I just throw a 10'x12' tarp in there. You can let the extra hang over the sides so nothing gets between the tarp and bed. It makes it easy to unload the last bit too, simply by pulling the tarp out.

I can confirm this works very well. I’ve bought so many tarps over the years I have stacks of them in the garage. The beefier ones are better for gravel. The cloth ones are good for protecting furniture/delicate items. Not the bed. That sucker is tough. No need for a liner or bed mat, which I think just gets in the way.
