That's for recharging during a thunderstorm
Nah, I wouldn't waste a lightening on battery. I will time travel 4 years forward to get my CT.

I put in the reservation, but the only features I like so far over the CT are the frunk and rear seat legroom. My kids are spoiled with the legroom in my current f150.
CT rear seat before shrinkage looked mighty roomy. F150 frunk does look good but so does CT visibility.

I could see spare tire under lightening but I still don't know if CT has one. I like the 360 camera, trailer brake controller and towing buttons on lightening (shown bellow) and the scale feature. Of course if everything is an option that gets you to $90K it is all pointless to me. The big question for me is what you can get for a price of CT2 and when you can get it. If time and cost is close, CT has a lot more of the things I like. I would even wait longer and pay a little more for CT if there is a Full pass through at the update.

Even though it looks like we have options now, we really don't. it is still seller's market. The day that Tesla, Rivian and Ford have more than they can sell is when we really have options. Not anytime soon.

Saw the reveal. Saw the price. Saw the options. Was wondering about the price to avoid going through a dealership. If I can only get these through the dealerships, what’s the actual final price? And do I have to pay for a maintenance plan? And how many upgrades are available at the dealerships? Like, will I have to be power sold on underbody coating before I can pick up the truck?

Just saying… The reveal looked nice enough. I see lots of people wanting to buy. But the reveal didn’t mention anything about dealerships. So the prices shown are just suggested prices. And in order to place a reservation it looks like one has to choose a dealership up front, blindly. I bet the dealerships are salivating even more than the people wanting one of these.

Good luck boys and girls.
I was on the waiting list for the ford bronco for a short time before I came to my senses. It became obvious that ford would be encouraging the dealerships to inflict maximum pain on customers.

It's very good for the world that the legacy auto manufacturers are starting to make the transition to Electric. More competition, more EV adoption. Kudos to Ford.

As for me, I won't buy an electric F-150, or anything Ford. Period. From a young car buying age, the brand and the atmosphere in the dealerships never appealed to me. At all. To each their own though.

I watched the reveal, and there were several cringeworthy moments, but the one that stuck out for me was when the engineer was proud to explain that the batteries were placed (scattered?) in several areas in the (ladder) frame, but were protected from damage and water by a plastic case. My mind wandered to the advanced engineering of Tesla's structural and temperature managed battery pack as a comparison.

This alone made me chuckle a bit and discount their efforts on this vehicle as a rushed electrification of an existing truck design.

I could say more, but I'll stop there.

the truck seems decent, 1st thing to compete with CT price, frunk space looks HUGE and with 120v in it, thats cool.
they are saying 300 miles per charge with truck aerodynamics, batterys gotta be pretty big.

but man is it boring looking

The question I want to know is what is the price of the 300 mile range, 15.5" screen, w/ Blue Cruise. The $53,000 version is xlt which doesn't have the larger screen.

With a $90,000 platinum price, my fear is the comparable $50k CT version will be far more than the $53,000 version they advertised.

Impressively competitive with CT price wise. If Tesla doesn't get a new tax credit/rebate, it will actually be cheaper than CT for 300mi dual motor f150...assuming the reported $52,974 is pre-rebate price. I still would rather have a truck with no paint!
Not sure the $52K includes extended range battery. Means range would be 230 mi.

"And you CAN get a big center screen".... Even that will be extra.
Was wondering if anyone else caught that, I backed up to see if I heard that correctly. It'll be a typical build format that'll jack up costs quickly.

I like it.
But I think the CT has it on bang for buck.
Has some nice features. Lets see if they can get it out to customers in '22.
Can't wait to see theses matched up together in reviews.
$90K for the top of the line one though is nuts compared to the CT3.

I don't understand the stuff but Sandy seems to like it:

I was expecting more surprises at the reveal and more information. Really had to go to the webpage to find out much of anything. I 100% expected it to look more traditional then the CT, but damn...they didn't change a thing from the looks of the ICE F150. I am pleasantly surprised the XLT starts at ~$53k before the $7500 tax incentive....and before destination charges. If that is with the 300 mile battery, that is going to appeal to a ton of buyers and does make it competitive with the CT2, especially for those wanting V2G...which, based off the comments all over this site, is something people want. The standard instrument cluster configuration location is also a nice little plus. All things considered with what we know about both these trucks, if they had a 500 mile variant for $70k, I would make that reservation and be waiting for final specs and pricing. If I was content with 300 miles, I'd do the same. Alas there is still only one truck for me and no 500 mile competition to speak of.
I agree. 53K doesn’t include extended range. I think some of the other options shown/mentioned will also be ala-carte. I hope to pull a camper. I need more than 300 mile range.

Only weak if you compare it to tri motor CT. They are definitely aiming to compete with the dual motor CT. At $52K the Lightning should be helpful for getting a few people ahead of me out of the CT queue. Thanks Ford!
IIRC, the payload for all variants of CT is 3500 lbs, compared to 2000 lbs for the F150L. I agree, the specs are not weak when compared with ICE 1/2 ton trucks, but the CT will have much more payload and towing capacity in trimotor variant. The dual motor will have similar towing specs but more payload by quite a bit.

The lack of variable suspension on the F150 is a huge deficit in comparison, IMO. Guys only wanting a work truck probably won't care, but people like me that do travel rough dirt roads regularly will crave variable suspension.

I do challenge that the F150L is going to be $52k with any good accumulation of options. Every bit of language I heard was "available" this, or with small graphics showing "optional". All those costs are going to add many thousands to the vehicle. I would bet a well apportioned (not even the top trim level) will cost $70k, putting it at a price point of the CT3, with much lower specs.

It's a good looking truck, based on traditional styling. This is going to attract buyers for sure. I don't see how Lordstown survives at this point. This is a much better truck than the Endurance and by a known, trusted entity.

I'm hoping that Tesla now puts out their production specs and they include a power frunk and more outlets, along with a way to power your house. That would wipe the floor with F150 at that point.

It sounds like towing is just 5000Ib on standard range but you have to opt for max towing package option to bump it up to 7700lb. Inferior in many ways to CT2 at 53K price.

I do like that it show you battery and motor temps and also tongue load.

Should only need the range if you ever want to camp more than 1 town away.Especially don’t try to pull your camper to a remote campground. That will be a one way trip.
