I am Dec 3rd and 113 order # Last report I got from an insider at Giga Texas was the 3rd quarter 2024. I was in the Q to be built then. Many offers to upgrade but I ignore them for what I wanted.
Thank you for your response
Do you mind if I ask what your RN number is beyond the 113? And have you configured yet?

I sold my 2013 chevy silverado back in 2018 to pay down debt. Now I'm RN113 and was going for beast.. until my wife stepped in regarding the money. Oh my god have I ever feared for my life so much. Said she might change if I bought it. Sheejus.

Went with AWD and by the skin of my teeth get to pick it up tomorrow. I'll throw the 20k I didn't spend at a model x plaid when I have more money and, you know those wet suits you wear before swimming with sharks? Yea while wearing one of those for protection.

And many people are going to wonder why drop 100k on an AWD instead of waiting for the sub 80K variant. Well, if you've waited since 2019 like I have, you just want the pain to end. Besides, tri-motor didn't hit 500 mile range; if it had, I would have risked life and limb, so tri-motor to me is for people with more comfortable lifestyles than I'm currently privied to live at this moment.

Anyway, enjoy your sporty beast guys - I get to have a truck again!

My plan is to get the AWD and if they make serious improvements in battery chemistry leading to better range, upgrade in a few years and take the depreciation hit.

If the robotaxi network actually works will build a fleet with the AWD’s and just buy a Beast later.

That's awesome !!!

My dilemma is getting into my Model Y Performance after driving the Beast... It feels so slow now, especially off the line it has a sluggishness I didn't even really notice until driving the triple motors in the Beast. It has ungodly torque off the line and part throttle.. it feels like double the power as my Model Y P, and I never thought I needed more... But now I wish I could have a Model Y P with the Beast powertrain because it's so amazing and satisfying to drive.

Regarding that model y performance of yours - there's an unfortunate hidden benefit of the MYP over your cybertruck if you haven't discovered it yet, and you'll know what I'm talking about when you're going down a 45mph road and want to squeeze in-between and pass two staggered drivers as ya easily can do with MYP - you're a damn elephant on that road with CT and just can't pass as easily, which is fine because hey, its a truck for god's sake! But my point is - the awd just ticks so many boxes and holds its own, and if that were the only model Tesla made for CT, they'd still be on fire. I can't tell you guys what it feels like - it's futuristic freedom (and why the hell aren't we talking about that huge damn windshield! It heals your soul and can't wait to go on road trips with the wife and kids)

But on that note: I fear that there are going to be a lot of fucked up wrecks with a handful of wreckless beast drivers because of that insane acceleration coupled with stupidity. I myself would love to have that option of beast mode especially in-combination with steer-by-wire, but at this point, I'd rather put that 20k into a future model x with said technology. Not saying your beast isn't worth it or a bad choice I get it, and hell I wanted it for 5 years! I just feel so proud and grateful having the version I do.

Absolutely! AWD is definitely fast for the majority of the public, if you don't feel the desire to have more acceleration and power, then you'd be wasting your money for something with little value to you.

Interesting thing about the Beast, it somehow handles so amazing to me. Much better than I expected. It feels so planted at speeds up to 100mph, I was surprised.

I'll also say this, the Beast feels like a Plaid up until about 70mph, and then doesn't pull much harder than a P100D after that. I believe the Plaids are HP limited to until 70+ mph and then their full 1020hp is unleashed, vs the 845 in the Beast that doesn't have the top end a Plaid does.

Because of that the power feels so perfect and balanced and not too quick and overwhelming as you'd think. I thought more people would be crashing the MS and MX Plaids, but somehow it's not an issue, so I think it won't be an issue for the CT either.

That's awesome. Have you test-driven the awd?

Yes, a few months back. Not bad, but felt slower than my Raptor and TRX, and somewhere between a Model Y Long Range and Performance.

You should really drive the Beast. It's absolutely insane... When stomping on it from a stop or 30mph roll, the front lifts up like a monster and the tires are barely clinching to the ground with their life. It's an experience.

The AWD felt like a mode between Chill and Sport in the Beast. I'd say it's fine for what it is and no slouch, but it's a completely difference experience.

One consideration that I haven’t seen discussed is for those that are taking the FS $20k option, well you get more for the Beast variant than the AWD and the $20K is less of a percentage of the total bill. In my mind, for those that wanted the original trimotor vision, the Beast makes biting the FS bullet more palatable. Just like $8k for FSD on a $35k car is tougher for me to swallow than on a $100k car.

So I’ve got a cyberbeast on order and I should be getting it early next year. I never really considered the all-wheel-drive model. But I thought I’d ask people here the following question: Can you think of any reason to choose the AWD over the Cyberbeast besides that it supposedly gets 20 miles more range?
Here are two better options in my opinion:

Option 1: AWD + Range extender is 4K cheaper than a Beast
Option 2: AWD + Wrap + Wheels is 4K-5K cheaper than a Beast with more opportunity to be unique after Cybertrucks are more common on the road
