Since it’s AWD and steer by wire?

Thanks

All tires rotate, duh

The Owner's Manual recommends tire rotation:

Rotate tires every 6,250 miles (10,000 km) or if tread depth difference is 2/32 in (1.5 mm) or greater, whichever comes first.

Gus beat me to the cheesy “only need to rotate them if you wanna go anywhere” joke.

Honestly, probably not if you drive conservatively. Factory tires won’t last much further than 20-25K miles. I rotate every 5K miles just because I like playing with tools but my tires were at the wear bars before 25K. On my second set now.

An unequivocal yes.

It's a common misimpression that "AWD" means all wheels are powered, all the time. Not true.

You can command the truck to constantly power all four wheels either by engaging Slippery Surface (Controls > Dynamics > Slippery Surface) or by engaging Off-Road mode. But in normal driving, the secondary axle with the Induction motor(s) remains unpowered until demand - typically triggered either by acceleration or elevation - requires it.

The AWD CT is fundamentally a rear-wheel drive vehicle and the two tires in the rear will see significantly faster wear.

The Beast CT is fundamentally a front-wheel drive vehicle and the two tires in the front will see significantly faster wear.

Tire rotation (front-to-back and back-to-front) is how you even out that wear, maximizing tire life.

From what I could find when I hit around 6k miles on my quad, it is recommended to rotate at 6,250. Apparently, moving the rear wheels to the front on the same side, and moving the front wheels to the opposite side on the rear is the recommended way for AWD. So, I decided to DIY that way so I would be familiar with changing a tire if I needed to. The hardest part was working out a way to get them back on. So, if I have a flat, I know what I’m up against.

Were the AT cyberwheels that were made with the aero covers discontinued? I was waiting for them to come back on the Tesla shop in the spring so I could order a set and an extra aero cover that hit a curb and disappeared this past summer.

Absolutely rotate, my tires wear faster on the front than the rear and by rotating them i got 25k miles out of my first set on a Beast.

My porsche and model Y have different size tires in front and back so rotation is not an option. not sure it is needed if tires are balanced and alignment is good.

I have 22K on my tires, and both times I've taken it to Tesla for recall service I've asked them to rotate the tires. Each time, they noted that tire rotation isn't necessary. The last time was a week ago when they said the tires were at 6 mm front and 7 mm back. I was very surprised at the even wear.

I forgot to rotate my Pirellis until 18k, but 1 tire was at 3mm and the others at 4mm. So Tesla and 2 other tire shops refused to rotate for liability reasons.

I drove the Pirellis to 23k and just swapped out to the Michelin Defender Plats last week. From what I've seen and read, the Pirellis typically last between 20k-30k from CTs, so I guess not rotating mine lasted about the average.

i rotate tires of all my cars at 10K miles, it's not too early not too late, just easier to remember and track.

Is anybody seeing more than 20k on tires before replacement? I am contemplating on purchasing a CT sometime in the future but the tire wear concerns me.
