Anyone else holding off on the Cantrail recall?

I just got the Tesla mail regarding the recall but mine are on pretty well and I'm just a little hesitant to have them touched. Anyone else in same boat?

Mine is fine. The SC said it's optional and they don't recommend it unless it's getting loose.

The adage “if it ain’t broke,don’t try to fix it“. As many here have said. Mine are on solid and don’t see them pulling away-at least at this point of the trucks life line.

I refused to do it, especially given mine are perfectly lined up already and the SC agent said there will be a tiny bump on the new ones.

I also was hesitant since mine were still firmly in place after 16 months of ownership. But since it was recalled for safety on my May 2024 build I went ahead and did it last week because I felt I would have possibly additional significant liability and responsibility for causing an accident or injury if they came off while driving if I ignored the recall. I spoke to the service center about my concern for a good job and making sure they were well aligned. I am very glad I did it. They did a fantastic job on installing the new ones. Good alignment and no noticeable stud bump or discoloration where it is attached. Absolutely no noticeable difference from the original ones. Now I don't need to worry about it anymore.

Mine are literally doing it now, I got pick it up in about 3 hours. I had some other worked needed, I had already got replacement wraps waiting here, and they told me I would $300 in Tesla store credits.

Yes, my Beast is wrapped. I took it to the SC and they looked and said the cantrails “showed no sign of delamination” and it was up to me. They said I could wait. So that is what I am doing.

Ordered parts that include installation (but I just want the parts) and Tesla automatically added cantail replacement to the estimate. Fortunately, I was able to take the line item off. Not a fan of people touching my cars if the cars don’t need the work. I’ll wait until it becomes a problem.

Side note, found it interesting they added ‘Clean Forward Camera View (Precision Cleaning of Inboard Glass)’ to the estimate even though I didn’t ask for it.

Took that line item off too cause this service center f*%#d up one of my 3s, so I’m not letting them touch my CT.

Mine is wrapped, so I will not be replacing them until they look like they are peeling off. I don't need anything from the Tesla store, so those credits are worthless to me - already spent $ on things I don't need because of the FS credit for not adding power share.

I had mine swapped out. It has a small dimple where the bolt sits.

Looks fine, but I have no doubt there are few people in here who would post pics and demand Tesla buy the truck back over it.

I'm not hesitant to have them replaced, but I also don't see the need as they are firmly attached after 18 months. I'm not planning on ever having it done (but I would if either of them showed any signs of coming off). I still don't have the rivet in my accelerator pedal either. It's fine too.

IMO, there was a small streak of bad ones and the fleet wide recall was because Tesla had no way to determine which ones were not affixed properly.

The only recall I had done on my early April 2024 Cybertruck was the new wiper motor and controller (although if I had to do it again I would probably refuse that too on the assumption that if it handled the over-current condition during supplier testing, it probably had robust power transistors). But, again, Tesla couldn't tell for sure which ones had hidden damage and which ones didn't.

Just got mine back. They did an awful job. The alignment is so far off I can see light from one side looking under the cant seen the side the truck. Also the broke my c-pillar appliqué, did you know those where made of glass, I only know because they left glass all over the trim. They did replace it, and things break when doing maintenance, but should have cleaned up the broken glass.

When I went in to the service I very politely told them it was “not good, not good at all”. The service rep, was damn near livid, but did a professional job of not loosing it. He explained that I should just take the loaner home and they would fix it tomorrow. But I really really wanted my truck back, so I told him I would make another appointment. Also I got the feeling the maintenance guy was going to get in trouble and be pissed at me and don’t want him messing with it anymore.

I’ll most likely try and fix the alignment myself. No matter how well they do it won’t meet my expectations.

Although the work was bad the service was good, and I feel like they will take care of the situation. I wouldn’t have gotten them replaced, but I had a lot of other work being done, they told me I would get $300 in Tesla credit, and @TESBROS gave me an amazing deal on replacement wraps

I’ll post pictures tomorrow in the daylight.
