I'm not sure you want to go through the pain of stripping it off the lightbar now that it's on there, with the adhesion promotor, that would be a brutal job. I tend to only buy VHB from trusted retailers (uLine, mostly, or Lowes/HD if its anormal size) as there's so many fakes on Amazon, eBay etc, in fact the majority are likely fake. Below are the prices from uLine, the real stuff isn't cheap. People ask all the time why our Rimtrims are so expensive compared to stuff on Aliexpress, Amazon etc, and this is why, the real 3M products are 4-5x what the clones cost.

Anyway, back to the point, if I were you, I wouldn't undo what you've already done, unless it seems like it'll come off easily and cleanly (if it does, it's for sure a bad product). Otherwise, plug on, and just check it every now and then. This stuff doesn't spontaneously fail, it'll occur over time, so just give the lightbar a prod every now and then.

So installation day is finally here. Now that the cantrails are adjusted. I wrapped the bar in the same dark blue as my cantrails and applied the same iridescent film to the front I have on my DRL. After connecting the three wires I previously tested back up with crimp connectors, we cleaned the glass with rubbing alcohol, applied adhesive promoter and then lined it up (thank you @CT_AZ_4x4 for coming over to help). The maybe authentic 3m tape gripped super hard and is very confidence inspiring.
The suction cups may not be necessary but I bought two pack in the interest of overkill and torqued them all down nice and tight.
Will likely leave them on about 48hrs.
Will keep you guys posted.
And yes….the lightbar conclusively works with the AWD.
Thanks again to all of you for the solid advice.

Now that it’s on I can tell you it looks SO much better than my aftermarket one did and also that the screen interface is some seriously cool shit for a gadget person like me.
That’s a ton of money though. Guess I should be grateful I got mine for $1200.
Pretty sure my wife isn’t grateful for that.
Here is some unsolicited marital advice, “This is the coach purse of lightbars” is definitely the WRONG thing to say.
Ask me how I know.

So if any of you ever thought you had to answer a lot of questions about your truck at a supercharger, try rolling up with a bunch of suction cups attached to your roof and a new light bar. Holy shit……the paparazzi was intense.

Thanks. They are still on there. Probably going to pull them off in the morning.

Tesla is using a completely different attachment method. VHB tape is pressure activated and requires around 15 psi. Tesla uses a urethane, so the sand bags are just to hold it in position during cure.

Alright. Short term follow up. Suctions cups are removed and that thing is freaking ON THERE. I hand wrestled it some this morning and I have total confidence in it going absolutely nowhere.
The dark blue wrap like my cantrails and the matching hex Film to my DRL look much better than I thought. With the glass it produces a cool rainbow effect in the reflection and almost looks like a double bar. Not visible from the cabin.
Hard to photograph but I tried. Truck is a little dirty but you’ll get the idea.
Overall, I love it.

Photos make it look kind of narrow and monochrome but in the sun it’s like a strip of “rainbow road” across the entire windshield. Very cool effect.
And the Ditch and center light features as well as the brightness control on the screen are SO cool.
happy I did it.

Nice rig. Your CT is coming together! Is the hex film tinted?

Thank you. I’ve been working hard on getting it back to its former state after the trade. Just reinstalled the digital rearview, electrochromic glass roof and center console fridge yesterday with help from @CT_AZ_4x4 .
Please believe me when I tell you that doing this activity outside in Phoenix in August is nothing short of straight dumbassery.
We might be the only two people crazy enough.
The hex film is not tinted. There are versions that are but this one is clear.

I also have a roll of another clear film at home without the hex and I go back and forth on which one I like more.
The hex definitely has a more pronounced effect and adds a little “texture”. For now, I’m keeping the hex on the truck and will use the clear shimmery stuff on my wife’s model x headlights:

Ran through an automatic car wash with it today. Tthis thing is completely fused to the glass. No way it’s coming off at least in the short term.
Will report long term but I highly recommend this method over Tesla’s.
Also tried to get you all a better picture of the hex film in the sun but it really is hard to photograph.
