I searched on Youtube and other sites, but beside the announcement about three months ago,
I could not find any single review or report of anyone actually getting their hands on a RWD CT?

Is there any new owner who would recommend getting a RWD CT vs. the AWD CT?

Note: I plan to build a bed cover for camping, so I would not need or use the motorised tonneau.
Also the rear screen would not be of great use since I rarely have passengers.
But I would prefer having the AWD and the electrical power panel.

Delivery dates for the RWD have been pushed back a few times since the announcement.

When the RWD was announced in April, delivery was scheduled for "June-July 2025".
Then it changed to "July-August 2025".
Now the order page says "6-8 Weeks", which implies August-September 2025.

RWDs have been spotted at the Tesla factory in Austin; for example, check out 13:15 to 14:25 in this video. But as far as I can tell, they have not been seen at Tesla stores yet, and they have not yet been delivered to any customers.

Tesla hasn't made any deliveries of the RWD CT yet, so there aren't any new RWD owners at this time.

The RWD doesn't have built-in outlets in the cabin or in the bed. However, you can add the "Mobile Charger and Outlet Adapter" bundle for $380 when you order a RWD. That would basically provide two 120V outlets on a long extension cord (plugged into the charging port).

If your camping trips take you on poorly maintained unpaved roads (or offroad), then the AWD version would likely have significant advantages over the RWD version. AWD is an obvious plus, and it would also come with more power, higher ground clearance, and an adaptive air suspension.

If you plan to stay at campgrounds that can be reached by paved roads or by well-maintained unpaved roads, then the RWD version could be perfectly sufficient.

Don't forget that without Air Suspension, there is no Tent Mode for self-leveling when camping on uneven terrain.

It sucks they ditched the air suspension on this trim. Everything else I could take or leave, but that one’s huge. I’d say buy once, cry once and get the AWD, but if the RWD is all you can do right now, rest assured it’s still awesome. The absolute biggest selling points (SBW/4WS) are still present and I would take a RWD in a heartbeat over anything else offered today (that includes the new quad-motor R1T, and I have a need for speed. CT features are THAT good).

That's true. So if you get the RWD with the old-school coil suspension, you will be forced to level your vehicle the way our pioneer ancestors did, by stacking rocks, branches, firewood, those big plastic lego blocks, or cans of Dinty Moore beef stew. It's possible to reach an approximately level condition that way, and it gets easier with practice, but Tent Mode with the Air Suspension on an AWD is going to be faster and more convenient.

The elusive RWD trim is real!

Tesla should have made the aluminum slat tonneau cover optional to help increase range. It understand however as it was a marketing decision to steer buyers towards the AWD version.
